Just look at this video (Factory's F30 assembly line): About in the middle, (from 1:30 to 1:55) the video shows the factory technician adjusting/aligning the lights. Here is the link:

Notice she's using a couple of electric drivers and the help of a computer laser guide... quite informative in my opinion. Also looks like she's using the same spots as indicated by
TonyS. Additionally you can see the exact spot (screw) to adjust also the fog lights.
BTW the assembly of the front of the car in the video is just looking exactly as mine (Alpine white, Sport line, xenons).....
This week I drove my car to the dealer and they took care of the headlights (so no guessing with the screws in my case). The improvement is evident.
