I don't think that is rust. I am not sure, but it looks like that kind of material that is usually put inside the doors and under the vehicle as anticorosive. Or some kind of glue. It doesn't look like rust to me.

Also, BMW offers12 years warranty on body rust. I don't know about the seat, but like other are mentioning in here, you will not destroy the car for that. Cultural thing?
