For my 318d, and from memory as I declined them, GAP was £749 (I kid you not) and tyre insurance was either £299 or £399 (I think the former).

I declined both because:

1) GAP can be had far cheaper elsewhere. I get my cover through Lombard, who provide monthly Return to Invoice cover for about £12 a month for my Mini. Bizarrely, it used to be cheaper for my E93 convertible (£10 a month) and I haven't changed it over to my F30 yet.

2) Tyre insurance doesn't cover wear and tear and is likely to have a number of 'get out' clauses for the dealer, so really it only covers punctures and you'd need to have an above average number of them to break even.

Like all insurance, whether you are willing to pay depends on your attitude to risk.
