Wait, the car hasn't been PDI'd yet. It still has the poly paint protection. I'll bet the mirrors have the poly on them and ARE actually black...
If not, the caps just pop off. Have them order the correct black caps and throw them in the trunk. Then you'll have the option to switch back and forth as you wish.
