H4CK--any resolution on this? I'm having exactly the same issue. Warning light now seems to come on during every trip when the passenger's seat is empty, after 5 minutes or so. When I turn the car off, the light goes away, and when the car is next started the warning is gone (for a short time). The warning has NEVER come on when the seat is occupied.
