Explanation is definitely plausible due to the Autohold feature we have in the X5 and cars like my F11.

I imagine part of it will be the extra weight of the vehicle and weight transfer onto the rear suspension when using the parking brake. Rear suspensions are different designs in X3/4 and X5, I suspect the integral link design of the X5 allows a bit more rotational movement when loaded on the brakes. Suspension compliance is also another variable, and greater 'flexing' in the X5 another possibility.
