If i were to buy my own Jalopnik Edition 320i, it eould be $45k MSRP !! I dont know if i can justify spending that much for a least powerful 4cyl...

I was torn here too, but I usually option pretty minimally, and when I optioned a 328i the way I would like it, the packages really tack on some stuff I am not interested in. For me the MSRP was 11,600 different between the two, and really, of stuff I really liked, the Saddle leather with Ash trim, M sport front bumper, HK audio, HUD, 400M wheels and higher HP just wasn't worth that kind of money to me, especially for a car that's still a 4 cylinder.
The a la carte method on the 320i vs the 328i just suited me better. Plus I'm not really looking for a rocket for this car, but if I really thought it to be underpowered (although I expect not), I can always add the JB4 tune.
I certainly understand others might see more value in the extras you get or can get with the 328. It would certainly be a more loaded car, but for me, I couldn't get 11,600 more excited about it.
The base price, $1300 ZSP package and $700 LED lighting package available without requiring the Premium package are the three areas that really had a huge $ impact for my build comparison.
As I spent a good deal of time going back and forth, I do understand the benefits of both models.
BTW: The ED MSRP for my order is $38,465 including destination $ handling.
