I plan on using my 4s as my "iPod" once the 5s and/or 6 comes out this fall. That will fix my problem, but that's 6+ months away!

It should work with the 4s, try connecting the iPhone and after iDrive ID it start the podcast to see if that's the problem. At least that is how I have fix some issues when playing Pandora.

Also you can try as chriskd said, via BT.

I'm trying to avoid using my 4s. I just want to keep the iPod in the armrest. I can stream it via Bluetooth with the 4s, but want it all in one spot (my iPod). Again, I'm lazy!
Thanks guys. I will prob just stream via Bluetooth in the end.
