I swapped to a c43 and love it. Both cars are great and have their pros and cons. At the end of the day Benz took real good care of me while BMW shit the bed and ducked me around.
In short, the c43 has nicer interior, the power is great, the exhaust makes you smile every time. The transmission is better than the c450, but still not as good as the BMW. It's not bad, but not great. The steering is a bit more dull then the BMW, but the suspension is much smoother over the 3/4 series. It's stiff and sporty, but not harsh like the BMW. Plus BMW is a bit dated. The Benz looks really sharp. |

Idrive is so easy to use, plus the excellent 3D maps in BMW

Good point. The idrive is way better. But the command is not bad. I've gotten used to it and it works. I personally never thought of it as a major decision factor - as long as it plays music I'm happy and command does that well.

I daily drive between a 435i xDrive and a C43C. My monthly payment between the two is pretty much equal despite my C43C costing about 10k more (I ended up getting a higher residual on it and was able to get loyalty credit and fleet discount as well).
If you have any questions ask away - I'm pretty unbiased at this point :P |

I think the c43 is a pretty damn good looking car. Also, it has the amg badge on it and everyone thinks its an amg. Even my friend with the c63 thought the c43 was an amg. I think I'd take the benz over the 435 any day. |

I like the look of the C43C a lot, but the sedan body is getting a little long in the tooth in my opinion. The C43 is actually classified as an AMG at Mercedes-Benz for all intents and purposes. The VIN gives you access to the AMG Private Lounge as well. You'll still get some people who swear that anything less than a hand-built V8 can't be an AMG I don't know if I would take the C43C over the 435 any day though....the 435 feels much better planted than the C43 and it has a really nice shape. The C-class line up looks a little too Beluga Whale-ish. The BMW interior is aging horrendously though (in my opinion). I am sick of BMW getting away with putting the same old set up in every freaking car. |

I think if you emphasize more driving dynamics you would pick the BMW, if you want more luxury and tech the C43.
I too am currently debating between the 440i x and C43C. As of now the 440 is taking it mostly because i place a great deal of having a 6MT, and the idrive is nicer (do not find that bolt on ipad attractive in the benz nor that weird roller mouse combo). Also since i always buy my cars with long term ownership in mind, i find bmw has a better aftermarket for parts when your car gets older. All the previous benz' my father has owned when growing up always had to be brought to the dealer god forbid anybody else touched them (maybe that was just him but hey it was his car!) Wife on the other hand likes the MB because it's "prettier", which it is the MB is really good looking, and the interior is really nice except that mouse roller and bolted on ipad. Really what i dislike about the Benz (and maybe that's just the purist enthusiast car snob wtv you may call me) is that it is not a real AMG. So that's where I'm at now, leaning more towards the BMW over the MB. |

There are some pretty nice details that the C43 gets over most of it's C300 counterparts on the road. What I've listed below is either not available on the C300, or is an upgrade. 1) LED's (I've seen some C300s with straight halogens...) 2) Badging - AMG on the grill, AMG on the trunk, Bi-turbo behind the front wheel arches 3) Exhaust housing - the C43 has unique exhaust tips. 4) Lip spoiler 5) AMG Rims |

I picked up a 440i GC xdrive at the end of December. My wife and I love the car! This is my 7th BMW, all 3's with the exception of a 135i. I think this might be my favorite one of them all.
I looked at the ME/BE, it's an awesome car! I think the interior is nicer than the BMW but the GC to me has a much better looking exterior. The iDrive system is second to none (although I do like the Audi tech almost as much). Two minor BMW complaints, first is the Msport 19 inch wheels and mixed performance run flat tires, I think I'd prefer 18" square wheels. Driving in NYC with these giant potholes sucks! I'm also gonna miss the free brake jobs and wiper blades, not the end of the world, but I purchased the extended warranty to put it back on the car. You really can't go wrong with either car. Having to choose between these two cars is definitely a first world problem. |

My big annoyance with the 340 is the dead spot in the steering which I cannot get used to. It freaks me out every time I straighten the wheel from a small adjustment and suddenly there's no resistance for a couple degrees. Really unsettling. Outside the dead spot, the feel is firmer than the 450, which I like. I don't have any major annoyances with the 450 other than that the blind spot warning is a loud beep (and the detection is conservative). Freaks the kids out if they wake up to that. However, the 450 has been in for warranty work, and the 340 has been trouble free (and is ~6 months older). All things considered? I would go for the 450. But it really depends on what you care about. |

Hmm, I haven't noticed a size difference between the C43C and the 4 Series. I'm pretty sure they're the same dimensions to the naked eye. The C43C actually looks a little bigger because of it's bulbous shape
