I voted for the Rogue lol.
Having met the people over there, I like their philosophy. They did not want to offer something that did not show real power gains(you can kind of manipulate dyno pulls to show whatever you want), and did not want to make it sound over the top but still aggressive. Even if I was not getting the production unit for free, I still would have bought it over the alternatives.

If the M Performance comes out with a cat back for the 328i (currently it is axle back only) I will probably go with that assuming a $1200 or so price tag. Also interested in what Akrapovic comes out with though I'm sure it will be pricey. I voted for the Rogue. The combination of price for cat back and results makes it a good choice IMO. Waiting for JV to post more video/pics when he gets it back to make up my mind. Either way I am waiting until at least this summer to do the exhaust.

They are working a release before end of 2012. They really make a quality product, looking forward to it. Modular design to allow a street exhaust, track exhaust, N20 & N26 compatibility, etc.

might help if you could identify whether they are cat-back or axel-back, the pricing and link the sound clips for comparison. the majority have picked the m-performance exhaust which is an axle back, so there will be no performance gains from that system.

Rogue is a midpipe and muffler. It also allows a bit of tuning, so you can have a normal mode and more of a sporting or track setup. Pricing should be sub $1000. I have no good sound clips just yet.

Are there an axle-back exhausts for the F30? Would require cutting the OE exhaust so I'm not sure many will be offered. I could be wrong though!

I know the M Performance for the 328 is axle back only and I'm pretty sure the Eisenmann is also based on these: http://ind-distribution.com/wheels/BMW-F30-328i-Eisenmann-Performance-Exhaust-B5428.00762^317.php

I think the Eisenmann is a multi-piece exhaust, I think most aftermarket systems will be. M-Performance, I have no clue. So that means dealerships have to cut & weld? =0

I think you are correct about the Eisenmann- I couldn't find it, but I swear I saw something about mid-pipes being available. As for the M Perf. I had ordered it through my dealer only to be told it was axle back so I passed. Don't know if that will change or not.

I'll have all of you know that the M-perf exhaust sounds rather tame (imo). Check the thread for it and follow the links, you'll get a nice soundclip from the BMW website (.uk I think).
If it costs anywhere around 1000, all the other alternatives are way better. Last edited by 755MSL; 11-03-2012 at 03:31 PM.. |
