Have you tried rebooting the headunit? Press and hold the On/Off button (volume knob) until it reboots. Should be 30 seconds of holding to reboot the headunit.

I'm afraid you're going to have to take it in to have a look at. Esys will not help you with fixing the problem. The only think you can verify with esys, is that the headunit still communicates. For diagnostics, you can install ISTA and check the fault codes, if you want to try and see for yourself. Otherwise, I'd recommend having the dealer take a look. They don't usually charge for just plugging in their computer and having a look. They don't to me, that is.

You are the very rare exception to the rule.

They tried to screw me over once with saying my headunit was busted. They reset all my coding so my 8.8 inch screen didn't work because it came standard with the smaller 6.5. After 4 days and even a rep from BMW BeLux had a look, they couldn't figure out what was wrong. Even though it was pretty obvious. They tried to charge me for a loaner but I was so pissed about the lack of communication that I asked to talk to the dealer owner. I probably yelled at her for the whole dealership to hear and since then I never had any trouble with friendliness or lack of communication ever since.

Sounds like the headunit is dead, I can take a look remotely if you want.
