oh ya good point, i rem reading that too. maybe its just a shorter knob. judging by the way BMW is packaging stuff, an actual short shifter would never happen and if it did youd have to pay them ur first born child to get it.

Another benefit of the new model year is that the M-sport suspension and variable sport sterring separately were $900 and $300 last year, and are $1,000 as part of the new "dynamic driving package" this year. Another $200 off for us that want the best suspension/steering options. Last edited by verbs; 05-15-2012 at 08:30 PM. |

Audi also refuses to incentivize leases on S-line/model cars (S4, S5, etc.). This hurts them badly. I think something like 75% of North American BMW customers lease.

I was looking at a 2012 A6. 10K/year residual on a 36 month lease is 48%. A 3-series residual on the same term is 64%. The Audi lease economics make little sense at that level when compared to the BMW lease.

I believe that the "short shifter" you are referring to is the revised manual that any 3 with a MT will get. IOW, ALL MT cars will have the revised manual trans that has a shortened shifter.

Am I correct in saying that there are only four leather choices for the M-Sport PKG? I'm getting kinda tried of black leather. Wanted saddle brown. But all I see for the ZMM is coral red (too loud) or black (without the red/blue piping?).

Black, Tan, and Coral Red are the only options. Saddle Brown and Everest Grey are not available with ZMM.

the M Sport package includes the M leather steering wheel with multifunction including short-shifter gear lever (for manual transmission) in soft leather nappa with M emblem and sports seats. That is from the description of the M Sport on BMW.com. There is no mention of a short shifter for the Sport Line. Source |

In the same boat! Probably will go for tan. Just quite bored of the all black interior.

I am just looking at page 5 of the Pricing Guide and I see KCSW as standard. Of course if you opt to get the Premium package then you'll tack on the Dakota leather. But I can unlock my car just fine and can always sign up for Satellite radio later on.

I might swap out the driver seat later on so another reason I don't need the leather. |
