Steering wheel vibration fixed!!!

I took my 328i Sportline 6MT to the dealership.

I made sure the shop forman rode with me to witness the steering wheel vibration occur at 40 - 60 mph.

They did a full road force balance on all four wheels. They had to rebalance the front wheels with the tires off.

Anyways, now there is no vibration what so ever. Makes me wonder if problem is in the manufacturing process of the wheels. Maybe the wheels are slightly off balance?

I have the 18 in Sportline wheels with Conti SSR run flats.

I wonder if BMW balances wheels at the factory. I did not see any balancing weights on my wheels beforehand.

Anyways, there is hope for those who have this issue. I recommend insisting on a full road force balance of all four wheels with the dealer as a first step.

Now I really love the car even more.

The dealer told me they had to balance the front wheels with the tires off.

They did the traditional balance with tires on, and it did not correct the problem.

I would ask your dealer to balance the wheels without tires mounted first.

Hope this works for you.
