This is as unfair as a comparo between an S4 and a 328i.

It's great to see that we as a community can still be unbiased and honest to say that the comparo is unfair.

That alone says a lot.

On a second note. Why write a review on cars that don't stack up properly. Stupid if you ask me....this comparo is worthless now.

65k plus for a 3 series, I would buy a slightly used M3 or M6 for that price thank you very much.

What was on the BMW that made it so much more expensive than the other cars? What was wrong with the Audi that a 3L engine with a supercharger had such a low output?

Sounds like that 335i came w/EVERYTHING...which must of us wouldn't even want some of those stupid options lol....

Some of these comparisons are confusing...I take it the bmw and audi tied????? Or did the Audi win??

+respect for calling out the unfair handicap towards the BMW and Merc, despite the Audi still winning.

On another note, my personal bias is confirmed. I was sure I'd be happy so long as the Merc didn't win lol.

I'd buy an Audi in a heartbeat. Both Audi and BMW know how to make drivers cars imho. The Mercs as of recent seem more Lexus-like in trying to appeal as "luxury" over luxury-sport.

^ yeah, I don't get it either, I'm guessing they tied, BMW more fun to drive, Audi more well rounded, Benz ugly inside and out.

*yawn*

I have just about given up on car magazines, they are usually comparing apples and oranges or favoring whomever gave them the most advertising dollars...

seems like the BMW would have won if it was 10-15k cheaper(which is easy when you drop some of the unnecessary options). thats if price paid a factor in the outcome.

That wasn't an S4. Audi makes two different HP outputs for that 3.0T engine, a low output and a high output. The higher output is in the S4.

Same engine, just a lower state if tune.

The N20 has a 180 and 240hp offered in other countries too.

This is not like the US A4.

The US A4 is below the 328i. This Dubai A4 is between the 328i and the 335i. The US S4 is above the 335i... You can't compare apple to apple between the Audi 4 and the BMW 3... They just don't stack up exactly.

Entering the S4 in this comparo would be biased the other way.

Anyway you can't just compare engines, there is so much more to it.

Hmm that is odd. I have a fully loaded F30 335i and it's 'only' $55k. Still freaking expensive but still it's not $65k. Individual package maybe?

Audi has become the most balanced, something BMW usually excels in. I really have to give Audi their due for what they have done in a little over a year. I was one of those naysayers that said there would be no way Audi would outsell BMW and would never be up to par in terms of driving and here we are today where Audi looks like they will surpass BMW and their lineup seems to be better driver cars.

From a BMW perspective, it really is unfortunate to see the direction they're heading in. I'm not saying the F30 and F10 are bad cars, they're great cars but in ways we don't expect them to be. With the playing field being pretty much even across the segment (forced induction, power steering), BMW isn't doing a good job at differentiating themselves like they were when they were using N/A engines.

Yet another comparo loss...I guess it gets less surprising each time it happens.

You don't lead by imitating
BMW is trying to copy Audi now

Must not be 'fully loaded'. My MSRP was just shy of $57k and was missing a random option or two. I could see it cracking $60k+ with all boxes checked.
