Wow! I knew the 335i's were hot, but that's wild. I've already got my DFW dealer to ~$1500 over, and can stack the $1500 USAA discount on top of that.

That's really nuts. Especially if you're going to order it and wait months for it? What's the difference?

What do you mean, what's the difference?

The lack of discounting is simply due to supply and demand.

Because they don't have to discount the stock that they get in and have available to sell. They don't have to worry about depleting their standard inventory with a discounted unit.

I went through the same thing when I bought a 300C back in 2005 when it first launched. The 5.7L Hemi motor was on backorder so stealerships were selling the car at OVER MSRP. I did the same thing I'm doing now and found a dealer that said, "If you special order it and are ok with waiting 3 months for it to come in, then we'll sell it to you at invoice."

It's no sweat off their sack. They weren't planning on inventorying that car. They got to move a unit and still got the dealer hold back.

Yeah, but it's different for BMW. They only get X number of 335i's every few months. If they sell you one "on order" at invoice price, means that's less money than they could get for someone willing to pay MSRP for their own special order.

Like I said, supply and demand. Your Chrysler example leads me to believe that dealer had infinite supply (as long as you order), whereas BMW does not.

Ok, that makes sense. With Chrysler, a dealership would expect X amount of cars a month. If a buyer special ordered a vehicle and put down a non refundable deposit, that vehicle wouldn't count towards the original X vehicles expected to receive.

You are saying that you are at $4k off sticker price? Are you going for a 335? Hook em up with your sales guy.

What a small world. I got an email last night from that dealership. I had reached out to the Internet Manager a month ago about a used M3 they had on the lot. I guess that guy got fired or left and the person that took over his job emailed me and asked what he could help with.

Let's see if they're ready to deal.

Momentum BMW West, $500 over invoice. Add in the discount if you've previously bought a BMW (-750) and add in the special promotion they had going on for BMW pays the first 3 payments (if you finance through them) and that is well below invoice!

REALLY? I emailed them and their Internet Manager Dylan basically just blew me off. Oh well, seems like I can get that deal at BMW Clear Lake.

This is kind of and old thread, but I just took possession of an custom ordered 2013 335i M-Sport from Autobahn in Ft. Worth. Ordered in February and received it in June. Got $1500 over invoice.

Plus, they are just great at what they do. Told them I was coming in on Saturday. They had all the paper work ready and I was done with signing in 15 minutes after I hit the doors. It was my second new BMW from them and I drive from Dallas to do business with them. I live 6 blocks from BMW of Dallas and only a few miles from Classic. Done plenty of business with both in the past and got offers from them this time too. Autobahn beat them and gave me less high pressure crap. Can't say enough about them.
