So, the fact that these turned out to be spy pics (which Jason had mentioned earlier in the last post of the other thread) rather than official BMW pics means that the timing vs. the concept 4 announcement for Detroit was a complete and utter coincidence.

Hopefully some details leak about the engine. Some more displacement and a bigger turbo could be fun!

If that's because it's a Sportline, then I'm afraid the fender thing will be available in chrome on the luxuryline...
Reminds me a bit of the air vent on Jaguars.

Looks good! The black side vent is actually starting to grow on me.

I can't wait to see the rest of the nose, and tail. The coupes typically have better front/rears than the sedans.

Also, I'm glad there isn't some kind of extra kink over the rear wheel arches, as had been speculated in a few renders, a la Mercedes coupes.

At least the vent is functional instead of some tacky stick on.

I'm actually a fan of the design, makes it more sporty and separates it from the 3-Series, but not a fan how it's not colored the same as the body as it is on the 6-Series.
Oh yea, it will still be there. Yes, I'm sure there was quite a few opposed to the crome-look of the F10 M5; however, the inlet followed the body line. If this piece was up about 8" higher, and followed the crease, I bet I'd love it... because I do think its a cool concept. Just a little out of place where its located, in my opinion.

I think that truck driver is a Big dude!

Now as for that heat extractor... It needs to be painted to match the car. Right now it look like a JC Whittney slap on IMO.

A 'Sport' with 'M Sport'-wheels, unexpected combination IMO. Maybe just a temporary solution during transport.

But I'm already liking what I see...

I agree with you there. The side skirt is incredibly lame. There's no swooping lines or any shape to it what so ever.

On another note, I've been waiting for a very long time for this car. Everything else looks great. The new roof line especially. I really hope they do a 440i variant with a new power plant. Hopefully the price won't be going up too much...

The black fender vent might look better if the mirrors (for this "sport") were also black. Correct me if I'm wrong, but on the Sedans, "sport" models have black mirrors, right?

Liking the look....the vent I feel if it was color-matched it would look better IMO....as for the rear, I pray those aren't the "bengal" taillights

It seems likely that the M4 will get a larger (or at least different) vent, perhaps located up higher and more like it is on the M5 as you describe.
