My message wasnt directed towards you yet you are getting head over heels about it. Stop whining and put your man pants back on. If you like your shiny car and consider yourself an enthusiast because of it more power to you.

But there are those with much lesser cars than all of us here that are just as much if not more of an enthusiast than you or myself. The price of your car has nothing to do with it. I love cars but i LOVE driving them. So maybe im confused here.
And Im speaking in general, the strange thought on these forums of 328 = not enthusiast, 335 = enthusiast. That is just laughable.

Oh and maybe, take it out once? Its really fun and youll want to go out every single time.

But in honesty it is fun to drive any bmw on a closed track. If you were in my area i would bug the hell out of you to come out and represent for the f30s! The perception of the performance of any of these cars based on driving in the city is quickly washed away after one session.

Matter of fact im gonna check out where youre from to see if i should bug the hell out of you or not later - Im on the lame bpost app right now.
I'm with ya. I've also tracked a number of times. I live next door to Donington Park Never my own car though. Impossible to insure it and it's not worth the tyres and/or wear and tear on the car IMO. I prefer to do the odd organised days where you get to try crazy stuff like the Atom, Caterham, F430 and whatnot

But you gotta take the bmw out. No wear and tear and for tires get a track set and maybe a break pad set. All you need.

Its good to know what the capabilities or ones own car is. For shits and giggles and just in case shit happens.

If you dont want to dirty the car cover the while front in painters tape lol.

Mines a lease so drive the shit out of it and then get into a new car. Repeat cycle. Lol.

As for insurance during tracking events, typically, your local BMW CCA chapter will help out with any insurance claims that may come up during a track day.

...there's also a reason they call it Performance DRIVING school and not Performance RACING School....

Why else would you buy a $50,000 German luxury car that wasn't made in Germany?

Mine's also a lease and they would cut off my gonads if I took it round Donington Honestly. Sooooo against the lease agreement the best way to learn how you car handles at the limit is simply to take is on a skidpad or round some roundabouts on a wet day How it handles on the limit on a 100mph left-hander is irrelevant to a road car whereas how it handles coming out of a tight hairpin in 2nd gear is what it's all about and you can find that out on the road easily and safely enough Don't get me wrong, I love driving on a track but I'd rather borrow someone else's Ferrari and do it than risk my own car which is my lifeline to income. I have a 110 mile commute to my most-visited client and even today I visited one of the closer ones and that's a 70 mile round trip.

You keep saying this, but a lot of 335s are built in Germany. Mine was built in Regensburg earlier this month.

I say enjoy the cars for what they are. 328i is faster in the twisties, 335i is faster in the straight aways, M3 is faster than both at both.
They're easily removable so you can just pop them off or turn them to stock maps when you go in for work done.

People shouldn't worry so much the only way it'll void your warranty is if there is a problem like the cars throwing codes or something or you're having engine problems then they'll check but if you take out the tune they can't really prove anything.

They dont comb your car for those kinds of things, its not like they're out to get you lol. I'm not saying have the tune on at all times just use it when you want a little extra power. People have been modding their cars since long before we were born its not that big of a deal.

Mine was made in Munich. Obviously not all 335's are made in South Africa. Are all 328's made in Germany? Serious question, I don't know, thus the question.

I'm left wondering why BJ has posted a picture of his house and his trophy wife to somehow relate to us (erroneously) that all 335is are made in South Africa

They dont track where your car goes. Track courses arent all 100mph left handers. Haha do you watch nascar?

Plenty of hairpins and chicanes and all the other goodies especially autocrossing. Thats turn after turn after turn. Nothing like a right turn or a left on the streets. Every road here ive driven for years as everyine else in their hometown. Plenty of times ive had to swerve to the other side of traffic because some idiot comes in my lane without looking really fast. I wonder what theyre thinking when im passing them to their left when theyre in the first lane. Im guessing those idiots are thinking wth is that guy doing? Freaking tards. Lol

Get track insurance.
By no means blistering through everything out of control. I only go to what im somewhat comfy with doing

My mom's X5 is made in south carolina and it seems every bit as luxury as any other BMW.

I guess all those X5 M drivers don't have a real luxury car but theri cars cost $80k
