Called BMW CS and they told me my car is at the port of exit in Bremerhaven and the next stage will be to BMW Throne and then onto my dealer. Fingers crossed I should expect it beginning of Dec.

Spoke to my dealer today, who gave me a print out of the VIN and spec details (all correct ).

Car has been at 9000 since 20/11/2012 and according to bmwvin had prod.date of 19/11/2012. Guess it must be waiting for a boat?

Dealer very keen to get things moving so is hoping for delivery at the back end of next week...

Just phoned BMW to ask for a status on mine, and apparently it's just changed to "Confirmed by Production Control". Can anyone tell me exactly what that means? Build week is 49 (next week I think?); and are there any delays still possible from this point?

Awesome Thanks. It's a bit early then, collection was estimated at week 52, i.e. last week of the year; but I suppose that's got a week or so in there for contingency? Usually up to 2 weeks to get to the UK from build isn't it?

Do you know if there are any realistic delays still possible from this point; or do most delays happen *before* the car enters the "Confirmed by PC" status?

Mine will have been 5 weeks from production to delivery but that's not normal, I think. Although others have been waiting just as long

I don't know how long they can stay at "Confirmed by PC" for but mine was at that state 2 weeks ago, then built as scheduled last week (WK47) and went to 9000 Departed Plant on Friday of the build week. It is expected in the UK this week, for delivery to the dealer next week.

On the order the expected delivery week is WK50, which is the following week so we shall see which is accurate, the dealer or the order form

Thanks, it seems pretty consistent that there's 3 weeks from build week to "delivery week". Delivery week is where the customer can collect I think (rather than delivery to the dealer), so I guess they've added another max. 1 week for the dealer to turn it around ready for collection. So if your dealer is quick, you could take up to a week off that I guess?

I think delivery week is dealer delivery, not customer delivery. That would be consistent with the dates we were all originally given. All of us had build and dealer delivery dates 3 weeks apart to start with

It also wouldn't make sense for BMW to talk of a customer delivery date when they have no need of knowledge of the customer. Lots and lots of cars are built for stock and built for demonstrators for dealers, built for pre-reg, built for ... well built for anything other than a customer. BMW (Ze Germans) only care about getting an order to the place it was ordered. The rest is out of their control

Yes that's very true. My "delivery week" is 52, and my estimated collection day is 31/12/12, i.e. both in the same week, so they better get their socks on and turn it round quickly for me I'm hoping it will be at least a week earlier than that though, given production week is next week.

It could happen. Depends on staffing at the dealership really. If they took delivery on Christmas eve, PDId it over the Christmas holiday and ... no it's not gonna happen is it. You'll get it in 2013

I need to take delivery by the end of the year to get the 3.9%APR deal, which everything was based on, so I'm optimistic I will have it by then!

Build week 49, 2 weeks to get to the UK (w/c 17th) and up to the dealer, and a few days from there for the dealer to get it ready, I reckon I'll be able to collect it around the 21st December...

I like your optimism Two weeks from factory to dealer is requiring all for the stars to be aligned for you. Depends on boat scheduling and whatnot but if the dealer takes delivery in W51 you've got half a chance of getting it in W52. But don't forget that dealers are on skeleton staff over Christmas and the PDI staff might not be working. It might be worth checking with your dealer on how they think they're going to fulfil their promised timeline

Not only that but you can be sure the dealer will want it registered in December to hit their year numbers.

The car only needs to be a 2012 registration for the dealer to claim the APR deal. Even if you take delivery in the first week of Jan, it'll have to be a W52 2012 reg. And that's perfectly normal practice in the motor trade

Apparently (from BMW CS) my car will be with the dealer on 07/12/12, from a prod.date of 19/11/12 and at state 9000 on 20/11/12.
