I assume you're only looking to see what the market will bear on the demand side or what people are willing to pay? Otherwise, you have no details here of the actual or estimated cost to build the i8

No way this car isn't less than $200k with all the R&D, carbon fiber, and potential dealer markup.

Really? I sort of expected M version of this car might cost that high but not the i8... =(

Hmm... Not much polling responses from 300 plus views.
I guess price range for this car is beyond budget for many people.
Anyways, there are 3 more days to go before the polling closes but thanks so much to those who took their precious time to respond. =)

I wonder if spyder version of i8 would be a hardtop convertible.
Do you guys think that's why the 0-60 mph for that car is expected to be 5 sec instead of 4.6 sec?
I was very surprised of 5 sec accelation number from Jason's post on i8.

I wonder if BMW can engineer the foldable carbon fiber roof for the convertible. I maybe wrong but if they could, I think BMW would be the first in the industry to bring that technology to the market... =)

I would pay 150k-180k, which means BMW will charge about 200k-220k.

Once again, thank you all for the help.

For those of you curious as to know what our recommendation was for BMW i8, I am attaching our presentation.

Btw, I am currently in business school and I would love to work for BMWNA!

I'll work for FOOD! LOL!

This econobox should be in the $50,000-$65,000 range. Not worth a penny more regardless of what any of us think or BMW of NA. Just not worth it today.
