Trying to get Office activated (for SMS and/or Email), but not much clue where to start... The bluetooth option selection available in my ride is only "Audio, Additional Telephone" - aware that those with "Office" has the "office" option or something similar

For the vehicle sold in our market, the F10 have office came as standard, but nothing in the F30, and there's no option to actually "opt" for the office.

From the spec sheet, the only noticeable difference in equipment is:
F10
6FL USB audio interface
644 Preparation for mobile phone with Bluetooth interface

F30
6NK Connectivity, Bluetooth and USB devices

Looking into the HU_CIC > 3003 TELEFON_TELEMATIK_ONLINE, 50... a couple of suspect shows up

PHONE_TYPE > currently set as COMBOX, selections available are:
- COMBOX
- NO_PHONE
- TCU_ECE_SA633
- TCU_US_SA639
- MULF_SA644
- INBOX_CHAMP2
- BECKER-INBOX
- INBOX_ENTRY

PHONE_OBJPUSH_MENUE > currently not active

Saw that there are a range of other "associated menu/item" like Read SMS, etc... all of them seems to be active already...

All help appreciated...

PHONE_TYPE should not be changed, cos I think if u change it the BT link won't work.
I heard from a poster at another forum that if u remove ur country controller code from the VO the office menu will appear automatically, but that's for the F10.

Thanks shawnsheridan,

Finally I've recovered the CAFD and coded the car successfully with you files.

I have been wondering what exactly makes or prevents the Office menu from appearing with a Combox equipped car and enhanced Bluetooth with MAP Profile support.

It will be interesting if it turns out to be the Country Controller.

Granted this is on an F10, but user BestManWins, also from Singapore went from Jan 2011 to Jun 2011 before his Dealer supposedly did something to enable his Office functionality, supposedly becoming the first to have it working in Singapore:

http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=482638

See Post #21.

If what he wrote is true though, Office functionality is now available in Singapore, so I am not sure how removing the Country Controller will make a difference.

It's possible that, for Singapore, country controller for F10 after a certain production date has office function enabled, whereas for the F30 it's still disabled.
It looks like country controller is a set template for a specific market where it includes a set of standard codings for various functions. Removing or changing it changes a set of functions simultaneously. From the ETK, it seems country controller mainly concerns the infotainment system, where different country controllers dictate specific part numbers for the system headunit & idrive controller.
As far as I know there are 5 different country controllers for EU/ROW spec cars (China, Korea, Japan, 8LH & 8LT), some of them have hardware differences.

Maybe do wht the other guy did & keep bugging ur SA. There should not be differences but it's possible that the type approval guy was in a bad mood on the day PML submitted the F30 for type approval.

I think coders in UK may have a better understanding of 6NH cos it's standard spec for them.
Have u investigated on how to enable voice control for nav/combox-equipped F30s? It's supposedly standard on every F30 that's either equipped with nav or combox (so no FSC code required), but for some markets it's disabled, just like album art for combox equipped cars.

No, I haven't. I don't hardly ever have an F30 to play with.

ill volunteer with my f30 what you want me to change ?

I have tried to get album art, and I got the box on the screen, bbut never any jpeg in it. Might be filesize related, but not working yet.
As for BT audio streaming, I can get it enabled in the media menu, but i cannot enable it in the phone settings, its there but greyed out and cant select it

some guy on a german forum claims to have gotten it working, but he doesn't want to share how he did it, so I'm inclined to think he just may be lying

Perhaps I need to start to nag at the local dealer, esp when BMW Bluetooth update website did show that my VIN is Office capable (with the right phone)

Thanks!

-Enable BT data transfer
-Enable BMW Live (done by dmege on his UK-spec 6NH car, need more countries/locations)
-Enable voice control

I saw from someone with a F10 that u can set album art graphic in 2 different sizes, but his car has combox.

TIA

I think I am that F10 guy.

Originally the Album Art was like a Postage Stamp, then beginning 03/2011 it was changed to take up most of the main screen via HU_CIC / CDMM_USB_HMI = new.
