Not a bad idea. I was just waiting till I get the wild hair to pull the drigger... Definitely the best sounding system though. Just hard to judge the actual volume level from a video.

No, I couldn't wait for the challenge catback exhaust ( I did want though), but ended up pulling the trigger on a barely used Meisterschaft exhuast kit, so I will be running the DP with that..I am hoping to get both on at the same time. Exhaust is coming in next week and the DP should be coming sometime soon as well..

Cool, can't wait to hear it. I was very much considering buying the Meisterschaft thats for sale in the classifieds right now only b/c you have the option to quiet the exhuast and the level of volume is my main concern. But I kept comparing the sound of the Meisterschaft to the Challenge and I am just so much more in love w/ the Challenge sound. I'll probably end up buying it and if its too loud for my taste, I'll just have to sell it and eat a couple hundy.

I want to hear the exhaust without the downpipe. I think the BMW performance exhaust with the HFC downpipe might be the perfect combo.

I am pretty sure Challenge has a video of just there catback exhaust only; and have another video with exhaust + the downpipe.

Both sound good in my opinion

When you say you went catless and had a bad taste from experience, what was it about it to make you say that?

Catback With HFC:
(Btw, is that the wheels chirping in the gear shift, or is that a turbo part?)

A couple reasons - all related to a different car and NOT Challenge's products so this is nothing related.

1) Too loud for my personal taste as a daily driver. I would always get a loud drone in the low rpm range that drove me crazy. And the cold startup shook the house. lol
2) CEL would always come on. I was able to reset it using the Torque app and bluetook dongle but it was still annoying.
3) Very dirty. My exhaust tips would get dirty as all hell in one day.

My ONLY concern is the overall volume of the Challenge setup. There's no way to tell unless you hear it in person. For the average person, I'm sure its perfect but I use my car sometimes for business and in my other car, it was sometimes difficult to take a call in the car it was so loud. If I need to take a customer to lunch, I don't want it too loud for them if that's not their thing, and I don't want my neighbors looking at me crazy like with my last car.

catless DP for the n55 - 2nd performance mod to increase max hp.
will throw a CEL on the dash.
will be smelly if u roll down your windows.
the power gains is excellent.

with the HFC (high flow cats) should eliminate the
smell.

DP looks great Challenge - do you have any install picts
for these guys to see.

with any performance mod'n, it's at your own risk.
just research and know what you're getting into.
happy modding.

What HP and torque gains would you see from a HFC dp only? Same question but for the cat back only too?

Just received my Challenge HFC DP! Packaging was over the top (good thing) and the quality of the welds and overall product is top notch. Can't wait to have a car to install it on!

Thanks Austin at GTM!

No problem, Mike! Glad it arrived safely. Let us know what you think when you get your car and get the DP installed!
