Two problems so far. One sorted, one to go.

(1) One of the key fobs is non-functioning. I opened/started the car with the functioning fob in the car. Then, I tried to pair the faulty one by holding it against the start/stop button as reommended with the other fob in the house. No luck.

(2) The leather on the driver's seat base looks worn already with two deepish indentations as if a very bony backside has been sitting on it for a long time! I've checked other cars today with the same sport seats and Coral Red Leather and they are fine. My car has only done 11 miles!

Now another problem:
When I select Reverse, there are no audible beeps when I approach a car, the radio does not quieten down anyway, though the visuals are fine on the Nav.
I think I've got a lemon.

Not sure what's normal, but mine doesn't bleep until the display is yellow, and the bleeps are a bit behind if you are moving "quickly"

My ex's car is perfect where as mine is not. She saw my seat and was pretty shocked by its state. I've not even driven the bloody thing.
I can accept a dud keyfob, I can accept the sensors not having an audible beep. Both can be resolved easily but the collapsed seat base is totally unacceptable.
I've more or less decided that they can take the car back and sort it out. I have no time to traipse to them.

The other thing I've just found out is that the build week on my car is 45 and not the 48 I was led to believe. It says November build. I have not checked my ex's car yet. Her's was supposed to be build week 44. All very strange.

Ah, the photo on the optional extras is misleading then showing the iphone in the dock in the arm rest.

Have to wait until they sort an iPhone 5 dock anyway

My driver seat has a slight indentation where yours is but acceptable, I have covered 1300 miles, if were to get bad I would get it replaced.
My car was built week 43 23rd October.

I have written to the Directors of the Dealership, picture included. It is a firm and polite letter which I am sure will get me the desired results I envisage and require. I have never failed in such an endeavour as I can be pretty persuasive.

There's another strange thing I found out this morning. My car is W45, Nov build, supposed to be W48. My ex's is also W45, Oct build! I have not checked whether her Nav is the new one or not. Did not have time as yet. We'll fiddle away on Christmas Day!

Well I must admit the DAB is a waste of money. Sounds utter rubbish compared to FM. The HK System is very good, though. I might change the tweeters as I have some very, very expensive Morel Signature ones which are at present in the Golf GTI. Speaking of which, I am keeping it for a couple of months. I just can't let go as I do love it so.

I wish I had ordered the 19" wheels for myself as I am pretty careful and not a kerb-a-holic. For the ex, an absolute no-no. She had wrecked the AMG machined alloys on the Merc. Anyway, we've boh got Wheel Insurance with ALA.

I'll go for a drive in Reinhardt shortly. My first!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Cheers mate same to you, you can always buy a set of 19"'s later, to your own taste, with regards to the DAB, I am finding it OK, I live out of town though, this could make some difference, I am disappointed the Radio does not change over to FM if signal is lost, and the FM does not necessarily select the strongest signals either!!.
Enjoy the drive and keep safe J.

Wow! Got an email from the big boss of the dealership. And on a Sunday! Taken my complaint very seriously. They'll fix everything ASAP. Sales Manager to call tomorrow first thing in the morning to arrange collection/repair. Firmness coupled with eloquent politeness pays dividends. Good result.

If your "ex" car says October 2012 or 10-2012 in door then its not a PW45 car. I her car says 10-2012 in door it should not have the new NBT Pro Nav.

Where are you obtaining data that indicates your car was a PW45 and not 48 like you originally thought? If your car was made in Munich there's no reason why a PW45 car should have taken so long to get to you. I'm driving a PW45 (11-2012) car and I've had it 10 days after a 16+ day voyage across the Atlantic.

How did you sort out your PDC sensors not providing audible alert? Is it because you weren't close enough to activate the audible alert?

My recommendation is to take your car to a few parking lots with various types of parking bumpers, curbs, etc. and practice. It won't take long for you to learn the limits of the PDC sensors and you'll use them more confidently.

At the bottom of the sill, drivers side, it gives these dates. Says B45 Nov 2012 on mine. On her's says B45 Oct 2012. Her's was ready 19th Nov, mine was ready 14th Dec.

The PDC sensors came on when I was close to another car. One needs to be baout 2m away for them to activate.

Just had a drive. Amazing.

Week 44
October 29, 2012
November 4, 2012

Week 45
November 5, 2012
November 11, 2012

Week 48
November 26, 2012
December 2, 2012

Both car's are exactly the same, colour, spec. So they might have decided to build them together. Started her's in Oct finished it in Nov and gave it a build date of B45. Mine they probably brought forward by a couple of weeks. So they also gave it a B45 date. Or something like that, probably. Who knows how the Bavarian mind works.
