Cars produced beginning Nov 2012 have an updated ECU. You'll still get a new ECU either way when you order the PPK, but only the older cars will need it replaced. Post Nov 2012 cars will have the ECU updated via the software.

Sweet, my car build is 11/2012. What's new about it? Just new hardware?

Don't get too excited, a "new" ECU isn't going to give you more power or anything. It just means a new module that doesn't have to be "hardware replaced" in order to take the tuning of the PPK software.

That's what I figured, hence my "just new hardware" question.

It is amazing how in the dark most dealers are about this kit. This is my second 335 with PPK and PE and it arrived at port yesterday. Should be delivered next week some time. Z10 option for performance exhaust. Z3B option for performance power kit. Z10 is $885 invoice($1335 msrp) and Z3B is $923 invoice ($1370 msrp). I expect performance gains to be the same as with my current vehicle 2010 335i xdrive. I had 2007 335i without any mods and the gains were noticeable with the PPK and PE. You certainly can get bigger gains for cheaper aftermarket but I wasn't interested in that on a lease. Will update ASAP with info on the new ride, allowing for some break in time.

Wow thats a long time. I spoke to a tech recently and he said the PPK's increase in performance is throughout the powerband. Is this confirmed?

I did see the PDF file and yes it does seem to be linear. Very excited to pick this PPK up.

The PPK, if it is indeed installed, I'd love to see a picture of the order sheet and the plaques on the engine cover, stickers on the side sills, etc. They have a release date of March 2013, which is about 80 days out now.

The performance power kit is, indeed, NOT installed. Oh well. I was misled by my order sheet which had both Performance Power Package AND Performance Exhaust on it. This apparently caused some confusion at the port and I ended up with the only package currently available, Performance Power Package (Z3B) which is, as stated here previously, is the M exhaust and grilles. Not happy with BMW for keeping dealers in the dark on this. I would have extended my current lease and waited until March. I am happy with the M exhaust, though. Sounds good and a little less intrusive than the prior exhaust. Probably will not get the power kit installed as it is not worth the money on a short term lease. If it is anything like I had on my prior 335, I would recommend it. Good power boost and keeps warranty intact.
