So what you have there is

W-Wort:
A090 - Batterysize 90AH AGM
EZSF - Deletion of Pull Sensor Function
LEDE - Leather Trim

HO-Wort:
OMSA - Without Engine Start & Stop
SPBR - Sport Brake
Wow! Learn something new everyday... Do you know where we can find what's codable as W and K word?

And assuming we don't know which ECU need to be coded, we can just add/edit the K or W-word & SALAPA element (VO code), activate FA and ECU code everything?

Yes, that is correct.

Here are your full lists of E-Words and K-Words for F30 Chassis:

DO NOT ask where I got this from, as I have no comment on that.

Well, if you modify your VO and write it to the car, you run the risk that your dealer will notice it.

The Seatbelt is probably not the best example, as I do not think it is a complete solution as it only addresses the reminders (gongs), and not the KOMBI Status Icons or the Initial Gong. However, ASS could easily be done the BMW way by using K Word OMSA.

Perhaps the most interesting one is K Word TELD to Disable Telematics, which could be useful I think for those with BMW Assist trying to add Internet / BMW Live.

Sorry, I am not sure what you are asking here.

You can obviously add K Word SPBR, and VO Code car, but I assume this needs actual hardware to go with it to be useful. SPBR is not an available K Word for F10 Chassis, so I am not familiar with it.

See my Post #1818 above for what I had to do to get Internet / BMW Live working on my F10 with Combox:

http://www.f30post.com/forums/showpo...postcount=1818

For F30, particularly one without a dedicated Combox, I do not know how it is possible.

Just data over BT? It must be possible. I don't have a combox and it's enabled by default here.

This is my first post and I'm overwhelmed by the information available here. thanks very much - especially to Sean for starting the thread.

I was pointed in this direction by member ilhan1103 as I noticed in one of his posts that he'd been able to turn off his DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) which is now not an option in European delivered F30s despite that fact that the UK, for example, does not have a legal requirement to use DRLs. The fitting of DRLs is necessary for type approval but the use of them is not.

Despite my pleas to BMW UK (and pointing out to them that they were actually misinterpreting the legal position in the UK - confirmed in writing by the Department for Transport) they flatly refuse to reinstate the DRL "On" and "Off" options to my car finally advising me in their last correspondence, which had lasted over a couple of months, "I have reviewed your further correspondence and I can advise that all BMW F30 3 Series models built for the EU can not have the DRLs deactivated." which now seems to be untrue.

I'm not sure if I have the balls to start faffing about with the software myself (but, if that's the last option I may have to do so) so could somebody advise me in the meantime what coding is required by BMWs technicians to reinstate the DRL option? I'm afraid I couldn't identify it in Sean's F30 Cheat Sheet pdf (F30_Cheat_Sheet_20120616.pdf).

Thanks very much in anticipation of your help.

Welcome!

First, this is svache's thread, not mine. He just lets me hang out here.

Second, BMW Technicians are not going to code your DRL's for you, Period. If you want DRL's, you will need to code it yourself, or have someone code it for you, and the latter won't be at the dealership.

For F30 w/no nav, the L7 Entry headunit can handle data over BT without the need for a combox, hence the availability of 5AL with 6NH only.

From the VOs on his car, I think it's identical to a F10 with 6NL. I think probably the same procedure (need to write EU VIN into combox?) is required.
The only difference between a F10 & F30 is the infotainment platform when nav is not fitted.

Sorry Shawn - I assumed that "svache" was also a "Sean" as at the end of the part of the first post in this "sticky" headed "Cable Wiring Pictures (OHD2 Side)" is the signature "Sean".

Now I've reread it I see that (in the haste to fill my head full of the details) I missed the preceding part of the post which reads "(thanks to Sean [ImSW1])"

I've immediately proved myself to the forum to be the daft bugger I've always suspected I am

My point about the code details is that one of BMW UK's Senior Customer Service Executives has stated that European F30s cannot have the DRLs deactivated when it is patently obvious that they can - BMW just don't want to do it. So I feel the "Senior Customer Service Executive" needs another little poke to correct his disinformation.

S5ALA Active Protection (aka Dynamic Safety)

What exactly is this that it needs Bluetooth Data Transfer?

My guess, and it is only a guess, is that somehow that tinted strip across the top of the windscreen is some how altered to accommodate Telematics in the mirror housing.

Ah yes,...that is the other Sean.
