Thule CU-9 Easy Fit Snow Chains - Any experience w/19" 401 style wheels?

My 2013 BMW 335i xDrive will arrive with 401 Style 19" wheels and summer performance tires.

Does anyone have any experience with Thule CU-9 Easy Fit snow chains installed on 19" tires?

Front: 225/40-19
Rear: 255/35-19

Need to have snow chains in the car if going over CA mountain passes.

I can't help as I am following this thread to see what the answer is. Thule shows that the chains will fit the tires. Maybe call or email them directly. And then please update us on what you discover.

Good luck.

If you live in Orange County and have an xi I doubt you will ever need chains. Mountain roads are always plowed. I have taken my 135i up to bear before in the winter with no problems

I'm taking a trip to Portland in December and the state requires chains (especially for this 4 mile stretch of the 5). I def do not need them here in OC - staggered summers 24/7. I don't want to get caught in the mountains.

I have also been to Bear in the winter in a snow storm and only my 4WD truck with electronic locker could make it through. I think it depends on weather. CHP does checkpoints requiring chains under certain weather conditions.
