Confirm oil quantity?

I went to the dealership to pick up the oil filter, and they were adamant that the car takes 7 quarts. That has to be wrong...I think I've seen 5 in the forum. Can someone just confirm real fast if it needs 5 or 7?

Garage List
2012 F30 328i  [4.63]
I've had my oil changed twice and both times that said they used 7 quarts.

So again I'm getting 5 and 7 hah...well if a 335i takes 6.5 then there is no way a 328i takes 7qts.

328i takes 5qts. I changed oil recently and put in 5qts, similar quantity drained from the engine. Oil measurement indicates it at max level. If the max was 7, car would definitely complain about it

That's so strange. Putting 7 quarts when the engine takes 5 would definitely be bad for the engine. I can't imagine how often dealers are messing up 328 engines cuz of this

s'all good my theory is that 7 qts is so embedded into their brains that they forget the n20/n26 is a 4 banger
