Afe Scorcher Programmer Upgrade any Good?

Is this a good unit? I have a 428i with Xdrive convertible.

http://www.turnermotorsport.com/BMW-...ine-chips.aspx

Or is another unit/brand better?

I'm still waiting to see how this racechips module rates up to the bms setup...I want real world dyno figures. Racechips sent me a dynosheet in "German" I think? I could not decifer it. Anyone have a real world dyno with the racechips tune and a bms tune?

the Afe is good tune, always got good feedback from customers.
It compares with the JB stage 1.
The Jb stage 1 is more popular though

I had both BMS and AFE Scorcher, from my experience, the AFE beats BMS hands down! It's a night and day difference in comfort and sport mode. The BMS was really only felt in sport mode.. My two euros

So how does the racechips ultimate match up to bms ? Is it comparable to the bms stage 2?
If afe is close to bms stage 1 specs, is the racechips pro the same. I like the idea of just a plug and play setup, and the stage 2 bms has to be hard wired in....so I was leaning towards the racechips ultimate, but there is still no real user dyno results, bms stage one has a lot of real world dyno results on the forums.

I believe that AFE compares to BMS Stage1 and Remus Powerizer. The AFE and BMS1 has similar connectors but the Remus only has one. How only one connector do difference?

AFE Scorcher is good and they spend a lot of R&D time vs less marketing.
Easiest installation of all.

BMS Stage 1 is more popular since it also cost $380
BMS Stage 2 is more hands on and requires tapping into power/ground/canbus wires.

Remus Powerizer uses the RaceChip module and its a new piggyback but looks like since RaceChip is really popular in Europe, Remus wanted to use something proven. Installation looks simple but not sure if anyone has tried it yet.

RaceChip Ultimate (only ultimate are made for N20/n26) is easier to install than BMS Stage2 but its equivalent if not a bit more.

Yes AFE Scorcher definitely is in the same league of BMS Stage1 but they operate different according to users. aFe provides power from low-rpms but bms stage1 is only seen at high rpms and some users reporting only seen in sport mode.

I agree Remus has less connections than BmS stage1, wonder how they can get all their power out.

RaceChip Ultimate can be compared to BMS Stage2
Except RC-U is installed easier and its tweaked/settings changed from the box itself,
BMS Stage2 you have to connect laptop to the unit, open software and change from there also need to purchase a separate cable connects from unit to usb they sell.

They're all good, but at the end of the day it depends on the driver.
How simple installation they want, have a garage or not, live in a cold climate or not.

For simplest installation AFE, RaceChip, Remus, BMS in that order.

Honestly i am not familiar with the Racechip ultimate.
There was couple threads about it a while back.
never heard back from the users or saw any dyno
I trust BMS products because they always post dynos with different setups ( and their dyno numbers are very close to reality )

I had both, AFE scorcher felt it has better initial torque and smoother. It's just me though, i just love having torque!

Does AFE clear the check engine light of the downpipe too?
I did have the BMS Stage1 and now the Stage2 and they clear the light?

AFE scorcher or BMS stage 1 does not clear the CEL.
