Adaptive LED Headlights

Hi everybody, apart from adaptive functionality, there are also other difference between standard LED and adaptives (i read adaptive have more intense and more deep light, but i have no confirmation about that).

I'm wondering if putting adaptive on the new F34 i have to order or maybe stay wth standard LED and put "comfort access" on.

Thanks

LED output on the standard non-adaptive LEDs are terrible ... worse than driving with halogens ... adaptive LEDs are much brighter and better light pattern

made dealer provide a 3-series loaner while my F34 was delayed in arrival by the scheduled arrival date. Car had the standard LED headlights ... they were horrible ... i ordered adaptive LEDs on my 340GT and they are noticibly brighter and better light pattern than the standard LEDs that were on the loaner 2016 330i I was driving as a loaner for a few weeks

Have standard ones on my F34 LCI.

Havent tested car with adaptive ones - but came from xenons (on X3 2013) and see no difference in brightness - its on par if not brighter on leds.

I kinda regret not ordering the 552 adaptive full LED headlight... 5A2 along seems to be a step back without adaptive functionality.

You do realize that most of the "adaptive" function of the LED headlights are neutered because of USA regulations (which are always behind). Remember when the rest of the world had halogens and we were still stuck with tungsten?

I digress, the hardware for FULL adaptive functionality is there, it's just disabled in software. It can be turned back on (there are those that specialize in providing custom coding for BMWs). It does some pretty neat stuff, and is able to keep the high beams on much longer and without bothering other drivers. For example when approaching someone from behind, the beams will split to made a illumination dead spot as not to reflect off the mirror, but you still have high beams for the sides. It can turn off one high beam when someone is on your right (not to hit their side view mirror) or on the left for oncoming traffic.

I also had it coded to turn off the radio when I open the door, plus a few other items. I have a 2017 340GT.
