Fuel Pump Recall 2014 Models

Just to let ya'll know, there seems to be a recall out for 2014 F3x models. My vehicle was in for service two weeks ago and they never even told me, I found this out on the forums. Go ahead and call your local dealer and ask, because when I just called, they informed me that my car WAS IN FACT due for a fuel pump recall.

That recall was issued in April 2015, you should have received a notice in the mail long ago. It's not a bad idea to peruse the recall lists from time to time, just in case.

I just had the fuel pump in my 2014 3GT fail this past week. The car would not restart after stopping the car. It was replaced by the local dealer under warranty including towing by BMW Roadside Assistance. I don't remember getting a recall notice and my dealer did not indicate that there were any open recalls on the car.

I read a thread about it 6months back and called my dealer to which they confirmed I could bring it in for replacement. I wonder if they would have called me if I hadn?t, sorry to hear that happened!

If there's an official recall you must be notified by mail by either BMWNA or your dealer, usually by both. That's a Federal regulation. A search for 'BMW fuel pump recall' shows a number of models, but no 3 series. If in doubt check your VIN here:

My understanding is it is not a recall but a campaign. I know its splitting hairs but they are treated different. I just had mine done a couple weeks ago. I have a 13 335i.
