Lug Nut Key Borrow?

Was trying to install my H&R Springs today, got all pumped up, spent all night reading up DIY's and got all the tools needed.... just to find out my lug nut keys are no where to be found

Took it to a tire shop and they cannot remove it because it has a spinning collar on it. WTH!

Anyone in the area is kind enough to let me borrow their lug nut keys so I can get these **** removed and just slap regular lugs on them please?

Would greatly appreciate it!

Thank you

Those keys are cut specifically for your lug nuts. Did you check your toolbox in the trunk to make sure it's not in the slot there (right side of trunk on the battery cover). Contact BMW or MCGuard (whoever made them) and try to get a replacement key.

There are ways to get those off. If you don't want to get a new key, try contacting more tire shops.

I went into BMW yesterday and they had a master set of keys. Found out the key number i need is 047. Called 3 nearby dealerships and don't have them in stock. They're charging $250 to remove the 4 keys
I'm trying to get my wheels removed this weekend to get my springs installed.

Anyone in the area have a 047 key I can borrow?

Thank you!

Is there any way to check what kind of key you have? I looked at mine and there aren't any markings on it.

I guess only the stealership knows by matching the key to their master set to find out what code it is I tried using the key from my 2015 X5, the grooves on the key looks the same as the lock but won't grip.

I'd call around to some more tire shops to just break them off. There are tools that work with spinning collars and I'm sure there are places that can get them off. If tire places can't do it, then call around to independent BMW mechanics.

Also, it might be a good idea to your lug bolts or a new set of locks on hand and ready to go.

If you're set on replacing them with regular lugs, a reputable tire shop can easily remove them by welding a nut onto them at a fraction of the cost you were quoted. Should be under $100.
