Talking Ideas to make the world just a little better

As many of you will know I have devoted very little of my life towards the betterment of mankind. Prefering to spend my time riding motorcycles.

I had an epiphany earlier this evening and thought it would be a positive investment of time to consider ways to make our lives, just a little bit better, I'll start.

To the many forum members with children, what's the one thing you wanted, needed, when you were in the maternity delivery room, waiting for her indoors to deliver?

That's right! A beer. Me too. Infact, a beer with a whisky chaser would have been better. A selection of beers! Look, let's cut to the chase, the most important addition to maternity wards across the country is,

a BAR!

Wrong, it's a phone charger, my Mrs was induced at 2pm and only gave birth 32 hours later, 2 hours on angry birds depleted all of my charge and no fucker in the whole of Whiston hospital had an iPhone charger.

It's advice I give to every expecting father.

Boring boring day that.

Wrong, it's an eye mask. Then I wouldn't have been able to see when the midwife asked me to look when the whole head was out, but body still in. Like an extremely graphic scene from alien. Just pass me a whole baby please, after a bit of a wipe down.

The pattern forming here needs stopping, a way to improve delivery rooms should not be the prime focus of this thread........

Nobody in their right mind would fall for that trick.

I would say a more prompt wife - 4 hours for first, 3 for second... first was 2 weeks early, second four weeks early. She knows I can't be doing waiting.

Things to make the world better? If someone could find a way I can appear to be at a meeting and engaged whilst instead I was sorting real shit that needed doing so I wasn't still working now...

Baseball catcher's mitt.

Second daughter was born on the bathroom floor, 10 minutes after labour really kicked-in. Son was born as my wife was walking to the delivery suite - the midwife literally caught him as my wife (already gowned-up thankfully) started screaming.

Bit of a change from daughter #1 who arrived after a 24 hour labour and almost an emergency caesarian.

We can do better than this! Can't we?

When my wife was giving birth - a very quick birth at that, the nurse asked if I wanted to see the baby's head coming out. I said "If I go down there now, I'm never going down there again - so ask the lady." She said no.

Which was a shame.

Hmm, plenty of strippers in Las Vegas and I'm pretty sure Donald Trump has been heavily influenced by strippers in his time!

That said, I'll take more if they're available. I'm not going to Kabul to see one though!
