Clay Bar

I have never used a clay bar on my cars, but the paint on my car seemed very rough, almost as if something had been sprayed on it. So I grabbed the Chemical Guys O.G. Clay Bar and put to use on the car after I washed it this weekend and WOW. The paint is as smooth as glass right now, and it was a pretty quick process. If your paint feels rough or has some containment on it I highly recommend using a clay bar to smooth it out. Sorry no pictures, just my .02 on the product.

Awesome! if you have before and after pictures would be neat. After the weather clears up and warms up I wanted to claybar and decon my roof. If I pull my wrap off the rest that too, still debating.

Claying removes contamination that you can feel vs. really see. Do the baggie test - put your hand in a baggie & rub lightly over your paint. Can you feel the drag/roughness? That is what claying removes. It can cause light surface marring, so it's a good idea to polish the paint after clay, then followed by your final layer of protection (wax, sealant).
There are some clay mitts now that make the job quicker, but you'll still need a quick detail spray to add some lubrication. Good car shampoo in water can do a similar job in lubricating the paint.
Here's what clay can do on oxidized single-stage paint:
