White spots on control display screen?
I have 2012 328i sedan. I keep car on the street and I didn't drive the car for couple of months now. Today I saw, white spots on control display and I can't see anything on it
How to fix this? Picture attached. |

The screen is very easy to replace, but just need to source one and they'll no doubt be very expensive from BMW. Best off getting a used one from Ebay or somewhere else that sells used car parts.
It depends on what head unit you've got - I assume it's CIC being a 2012 car. An entire CIC set (head unit, screen and controller) is going for $450 on US Ebay so I'd hope you can get a screen for a lot cheaper than that. According to RealOEM the screens used on cars up until 12/2012 were part number 9281688 (or 65509281688 for full part number) so that may help you find one, although you may want to take your current one out to make 100% sure that's what you've got. If so there's one on US Ebay right now for $237. Alternatively you could look at replacing it with an Android screen. Could get a 10.25" or 12.3" one that would drop right in for not that much more.
