So will you still be saving money compared to just buying an M Sport car in the first place?

Some times, its the act of modifying and not always about the end result or the sum cost of the two

I was only asking, I was genuinely interested if it had saved money.

One other thing though, isn't yours the 320ed with the lower power engine?

what a beaut!

not sure if youve thought about a remap? the ed is the same engine as the 320d just detuned i believe, remap will unleash all the power and more - trust me it does transform the drive.

there are alot of threads on remapping, one major point to note it is an ecu out and case cracked open job which will invalidate any warranty you have..for me the benefits outweighed the cons! there are numerous reputable companies who.provide the service some cheap £200 and others not so £2k+! simon from emaps sorted mine £499 and i recommend him as he knows his stuff and also travels to you which for me was ideal, although you do not get a rolling road as part of the service so you would have to get this done separately if you want a readout of power gains. im guessing alot would say they would never get a remap unless the rolling road is part of the service and im sure they are right (alot more technical than i am!) for me simon has remapped 3 cars and i wouldnt hesitate to use him again. google simon emaps and have a read, im guessing your ed is 163hp? you will probably manage 225hp post remap or something along that. anything higher than 250 and i would be weary of the wear on internals. my advice would be to thoroughly research and make sure ur 100% happy with the company, if done incorrectly it could/will damage your car.

I think you're right, it does actually have the same torque figure as the N47 320d, but just lower peak power.

UKF30 a remap is definitely in order so your car has some power to match it's looks!

I will try to find decent company to remap in Northeast or might drive to Birmingham to see Simon which recommended by Yaz_BMW320D

£499 for remap thought I have finished my list

Remapping is 2nd best mod I have done to the car after headlights. It now feels like a different car, lighter, smoother and more agile. Most importantly, not dangerously sluggish as before. It's like you get a bigger engine BM for less money. DMS can get you around 85 BHP extra but they charge 750. Just do it mate its worth it.
