The M Sport package kicks the limiter from 130 mph to 155 mph. I remember seeing that in the package details when I ordered mine last year. I got a tune and found that my limiter dropped to 130 mph, though, so I think it's the default kick-back if the computer is tampered with. There is a bypass for the limiter (not sure exactly what it is) that my ECU tuner is providing me with to get rid of the thing altogether.

I'm in a 2013 335i M Sport 8AT with ECU Tuning Group tune, Challenge HFC DP, ER CP, and BMS intake (and muffler delete just to complete the list).

I have a JB4 that I bought from someone on the forums which I found problematic. I might patch it up and play around with it. Boost was cutting in and out, I don't really know what's wrong and the BMS guys don't want to help me out since I didn't buy it new (which is completely understandable).

When I turn the JB off it doesn't do it. I have been beating the shit out of the tranny but I always wait for the car to be warm and I don't over do it.. when i shift in its power band at heavy throttle the car shifts but doesn't engage very well. Sort of like a bad shift .. you can actually feel it slipping.

I have not had this until now. about 1000 miles on the JB4 about 8000 total on the car .. I am getting worried now .. I hope this is temporary but how could it be just temporary?

I am hitting around 15-16psi .. sometimes spike to 19-20.

If continues I will take off JB for a little.

You have 8AT and no slippage? try shifting full throttle at like 4500rpm or something?

maybe I will try map 1/2 to see if it still happens.... my life would be slow without the JB4 ahah
What do you mean by bad shift? Is it just jerky?

No, I like the jerkiness and aggressive shifting that is normal in sport plus mode and a heavy foot. It is what the ZF is all about...

This is hesitating and slowly shifting grabbing and then going.

When I fully accelerate from dead stop in 1 .. the tranny goes to shift into 2 and it throws you forward because it breaks the momentum of going forward then once it catches it continues to accelerate into 2nd. The car literally shakes as it tries to catch the next gear, sort of like a stuttering person trying to get the next word out.

Does the problem go away with just Map 1 and 2? Since you're making a poop-ton more torque in the other maps.

I have yet to year of any F30 trans issues but if you have trans slippage definitely go down to a lower map. Like map 1.

I am not sure of the problem any more. I am getting a "BOV plausability -- tuner code ignore" reading on the JB4 .. there was this very weird humming coming from the car and it was running very hot. I think it was the water pump. The car was not boosting right and the transmission was slipping or not engaging correctly.

I took out the tune and will take out the downpipe and bring it in for service. Could the water pump be causing both overheating problems AND transmission problems. I was reading that it does provide cooling for transmission.

Something is either broken or not working efficiently. I could of cracked the charge pipe ... could be anything as of now. From the humming to the tranny to the temp -- the best bet is to delete codes with BT tool, return to stock and bring her into the dealer and have everything looked at.

Will update everyone.

I've been running map 5 for a few days now on 94 octane and it definitely feels stronger than map2.

Gonna try to capture a few logs this week.

So far so good.

Hey dudes!!! Finally my first post. Sure isn't optimized for use with an iPhone is it?

You have the same set-up I'm considering doing to my 13 MSport 335ix. Can you provide me with any pros/cons and maybe some videos?

Excuse me if I'm clumsy gents I've been using f30post for research for the past two years on my previous F30's but never joined in the discussion...

Did I just read here that you have a software tune for the F30? ECU tuning group had developed some programing for the F10 but didn't realize anything is out at all as far as a dedicated ECU flash for the F30.

Been running MAP 5 with E85 wires with no issues at all. I've done about 3 dozen logs and it appears to be working.

Sorry that I was unclear about that. It is a piggy-back unit, not a programming modification. Those have not yet been developed as far as I've read. I'm sure that it'll be a game changer once it is, though!!

I take is your are not mixing with E85 so you don't have the flex fuel wires installed correct? What does FBO mean?

My understanding from Terry's post from N54Tech is that the N55 does not like E85, prefer race gas. Has this been rectified? Also, do you have the pneumatic solenoid or the electronic one like mine. My understanding Is that boost is limited to 1-2 psi over stock because of this obstacle and a resolution is still in the works..I need to go over to N54Tech to find out the latest.

EDIT: Nevermind. This is for cars with the pneumatic Solenoid.

I don't have good access to E85 and no flex fuel wires.

FBO means, Full Bolt On.... I think (tune, down pipe and exhaust)

Garage List
Any updates on map 5? Can you get the link still?

I have pneumatic (I think), if so I can run map 5?

My 2 cents, even though I run e85 with the FF wires, I only put (now) a max of like 3 gallons and the rest either with all 91 or a combo of 91 and 100 octane..

Personally, my car hauls way more ass with 100 octane, although I have felt the beast/power of e85, but I honestly think e85 is way too lean, compared to gas, you can feel it. And don't put too much e85 in bc I did before I made the 3 gallon rule, filled up half a tank, and had many problems until I got all the gas out of there, new fuel injectors, and new spark plugs. So beware.

Also, I definitely have hit 130+, and it wasn't stopping, it would of kept going up but it was getting scary fast at that point LOL

Did some logging.

Map 5 with 94 octane peaks at 15 vs Map 2 which peaks at 14.

I did have 1 log where map 2 did hit 15 as well.

Are you EWG? Harness?

I got one run in before the rain got bad, and hit 15.2 in the new map 5 beta, BMS intake, MPE, and 93 octane plus booster...I need to do a couple good runs in both map 2 and 5.
