I'm confused as to why you recommend not doing it?

I'm also confused as to why this pic isn't a fair representation? In what way??

This basically keeps it 100% in parking mode and in driving (low-beam) mode....

It morphs the light at night, you cant really see the defined ring because the light just blends, BMW didn't dim it at night for fun. Thats why it dims at night and stays 100 for parking/DRL.

Maybe standing right in front of it it looks right but on the road in rear view mirrors, the way other people see it, it doesn't.

Wow must be different then for 2016 340i's or something, HUGE difference and can definitely see a defined ring from a long ways away and close by, just like in the pic.

thats during the day. how often do your headlights (low beams) come on during the day?

Are you saying the 340's don't have DRL's already set to 100%?

No, I meant at night as well it's very clearly defined and a huge difference from default. The 340i's do have 100% DRL during day.

I just can't get a picture at night properly the camera just picks up huge bright lights but I can definately see the rings from both close and far.

The picture above is with the low beams on during the day just with sunlight so I can properly capture a picture, but the effect is the same at night time.

if you say so. I've tested this on M4's and M3's with LED's and with it set to 100% with low beams it just looks washed out if I am driving and am a few hundred feet in front of you.

I'll try and get some pics again. I'm no camera guy and when I tried it was just over exposed with beaming bright white light.... Not sure how to take that picture properly.

pics and real life are two different things, you can always under expose it to where it will look correct.

I have been trying with zero luck to get the halos to stay at 100% on my X540e I changed these 6 to 100% but that did not help, what am I doing wrong, the X5 does not have FLE so I found these under Body

Do the exact same thing on a 6-series with LED headlights

Hi,

I have a 640d (F06) UK spec with the new facelifted LED headlights that are very similar to the 3-series lights. The 6-series community is nowhere near as active as this one, and you guys have solved a very similar issue.

My car has two FLE modules both with POLI1_Idx, POLI2_Idx, and POLI3_Idx.

I want to enable full angel eye brightness with headlights on, however, my POLI werte values are all:

01, 01, 0E, 01, 01, 01, 01, 01, 01, 01

So I have no idea which value to change! Please could you, or anyone, give me any suggestions? I'd be so so so grateful.

All of the coding guides for doing this on a 5-series or 6-series don't work as they are designed for cars before the FLE modules for LED headlights.

Thanks.

Davood

Do you have a pic of before and after?

Do you notice any improvement to nighttime illumination?

My default vaue for POLIn_Idx are 00, 00, 00, 00, 00, 00, 08, 00, 00, 00.

The value 00, 00, 00, 00, 00, 00, 04, 00, 00, 00 make them off...

Old thread sorry - but I actually think the LCI LED's in general are more "washed out" at night compared to the F30 Xenons... might be better lighting and they look awesome, but not nearly as clear "cut out" as the pre-LCI

Would LOVE my xenon DRL to be DRL-strength in both low-beam and park - park is low power mode like the low beam mode

In my opinion they wont look nice at night. It makes your main beams look very dim as the DRL's get very blinding.
