finally got around to replacing this vent and sure enough that fixed it for me. Old vent was super clogged and like yours dirt was just pouring out of it. You could easily feel the difference weight wise between the two when i got it out. Thanks so much.

yes, i had NO codes for this. it might be after the sensor and doesnt get detected if clogged? I could still blow a air through the old one so maybe thats why it doesnt have a code? Not sure. When i did blow through it dust just billowed out of it.

Do you think the extended warranty on the evaporator I just received in the mail from BMW would address this issue

What is the most likely problem I cannot fill up except extremely slowly. If I go regular pressure on a gas pump, the pump stop thinking the tank is full when it is not at all.

2019 430i

I’d like to bring it to my mechanic, but save hours of exploratory work

I'm having trouble filling the gas tank, no rough idle no chck engine light - does iut make sense to change the Fuel tank breather valve, (Fuel Tank Vent Valve) before exploring charcoal canister

If so where is theFuel Tank Vent Valve located on this car

Hey do you know what they ended up replacing to resolve your issue?

I imagine it's that fuel tank vent valve like others have mentioned.

My car is having the same issue. I just haven't had the chance to look into it or fix it. That is where I would start though.

Any chance these other parts might be causing the problem?

BMW Fuel Tank Breather Valve - Genuine BMW 13907643106

Evap purge valve

BMW Vent Pipe With Dust Filter - Genuine BMW 16137438487

BMW Leak Detection Pump - Genuine BMW 16137333302

I’m not getting any codes. Did you get any codes?

Any chance these can be causing the problem

I replaced the valve on top of the intake manifold, didn't work, and then finally the vent pipe with dust filter. I did not have any codes, just the gas pump issue.

I got a code for the leak detection but I think it’s going to be the vent pipe with dust filter to replace

2019 440ix, no codes showing, same problem here...can barely put fuel in the damn thing. Pump click pump click for 20 min or so...you can hear the fuel filler pipe fill up as you're trying to pump fuel and the fuel pump clicks off...I've replaced the tank vent valve (on top of the intake manifold)- no go, same problem...yesterday I replaced the charcoal canister with a brand new one..no go, same problem...I haven't replaced the vent pipe with dust filter, but I can easily blow through the thing as if it were a straw, so I can't imagine that's the issue. Do these fuel tanks have a check valve or something where the filler connects? as I said earlier, you can hear the fill pipe fill up so you have to wait till it drains into the tank and then barely squeeze the pump handle to trickle fuel in...

I just replaced the fuel tank vent valve on my car yesterday. When I go to fill up again, I'll report back if this solved my issue.

Happened to me twice. I just filled slowly and kept topping up for a while. The issue didn’t come back since

I have the same issue as you. 2019 440i, no codes either. I’ve replaced the same part as well as the vent pipe with dust filter. No luck.
