Option 1 = H8 CREE LED - 50W which is a straight swap of the bulbs and is about $35 for 2 bulbs. (Link: http://www.horizonleds.co.uk/h8-50w-...og-light-bulbs)

Option 2 = H8 CREE XHP50 LED Headlight Kit - 3000 Lumens which are actually headlight bulbs, but work and give you more light output. These are $125 for 2 bulbs. (Link: http://www.horizonleds.co.uk/h7-cree...adlight-kit-g4)

Option 3 = Replacing the halogen assembly with BMW LED Foglight Assembly. These are $350 for the 2 housings, but then I need to get LED bulbs? Is that right? (Link: https://www.ecstuning.com/ES2960697/...FVUWHwodK-sP1Q)

Sounds like Option 3 is easily the best but it's substantially more expensive. And the difference between Option 1 and Option 2 is noted throughout the thread (light output, glare, etc).

I'm leaning towards Option 1 since this is entirely an appearance upgrade for me. And each car is different, so it's impossible to know if I need the resistors or not? http://www.horizonleds.co.uk/h8-canb...ning-canceller

Thanks man.
Updated the thread with some pictures on the 1st page.

Nick - Thanks I'll wait. That will be helpful to see comparison pictures between Option 1 and Option 2. Interested if it's worth 2-3x the cost ($80) more?

Option 1 = 2x H8 CREE LED 50W ($19) + 1x CanBus resistor cable pair ($8) = $45
Option 2 = 1x H8 CREE XHP50 LED Headlight Kit - 3000 Lumens = $125

I believe that without a doubt, Option 2 would be worth it. However, I must say that no matter what light you put in the housing, the light strength is mostly going to be focused on the sides, due to the fog light housing design. I personally find that to be a huge bonus, since I don't have adaptive headlights, so while cornering, the fog lights tend to be a huge help. Will keep you posted regarding the CanBus connectors.

Hi all,

I have a F36 and want to convert rear turn signal to LED. From the thread I have clear that I should go for this: http://www.horizonleds.co.uk/cree-le...cree-led-bulbs but... which color? white or amber?

I am from Spain and my rear turn signal lens are amber already.

Thanks in advance.

Regards!

Amber. Gives it a cleaner look.

Thanks Nick, I just ordered the H8 CREE XHP50 LED Headlight Kit. I'm slightly worried about the color being too blue from you pics, but I guess I'll try the (supposedly very difficult) color filters if it's too blue.

These don't need Canbus Controllers and don't need coding, right? Don't want to deal with either. Basically, I just want color matching LED fog lights!

Hey man,

They won't be blue at all! They're just whiter than the Xenon bulbs without the filter. The only coding needed is the cold + warm bulb check coding. No CanBus connectors needed. If you need help, lemme know.

I've emailed you direct, filled in your online form, now I'm here.

The PHILIPS-HLKT-H7-GEN3 I ordered on 06-June-2015 have failed, the plastic bases that clip into the lamp unit have snapped, leaving the bulb hanging out, I am trying to get a warranty replacement sent out ASAP but nobody is responding to my messages???"

It's pretty poor waiting this long for a response, Horizon LEDs are dearer than most, but you're paying a premium for quality, reliability, & service..... the later at which Horizon led's are failing miserably

I believe it is because they were busy at SEMA. Will talk to them for you.

I have been told to tell you to use the warranty forum on their website for any warranty issue. Furthermore, incase you need more help to email them at Forums@HorizonLEDs.co.uk.

Hope this helps

Do NOT fit 2012 328i F30

Well, my LED lights from Horizon cam yesterday but they don't fit on 2012 328i F30.

H8 CREE XHP50 LED Headlight Kit: http://www.horizonleds.co.uk/cree-le...adlight-kit-g4

I installed the driver's side in less than 5 minutes and tested it – I was super impressed, it looked amazing! But then when I opened up the passenger side wheel well I immediately saw an issue – there is a radiator about 0.5" inches to the left of the "butt" end of the light and a plastic injection mold point about 0.5" directly above it too. I immediately knew the fatter "butt" end of the headlights (linked above) would barely fit and definitely touch.

So I carefully cut off the excess plastic injection mold point, and pushed the radiator over and barely was able to install the LED light. About 1 inch of the LED headlights "butt" end radiator/fan is mashed against the radiator rubber.

I let it run for 5 minutes to see how hot it would get on the radiator – it was too hot to touch after just 5 minutes. So I had to uninstall them both. There is no way I can leave that much heat directly mashed against the rubber of the radiator. It would definitely burn, or worse.

Horizon better have a good return policy, $180 shipped to the US! I wanted to share so no one else makes the same mistake.

Now I need new ones with a small butt end and located in the US. Any suggestions? I want the best available, that fit easily, cause no errors, and match my Xenon headlights.

Thanks man! I saw that style and had the same idea that it could work, but then I was thinking it will be equally as hot and again right up against the rubber of the radiator?

I have them installed and it hasn't been a problem for the past 3 light kits I had installed.

Edit: I'm talking about the XP50.

Yours looks like that pic? With the LED butt end radiator/fan section forcefully pressed against the radiator?
