Haha! Yeah I don't see that color combo often. Not sure why not, it seems to go well together.

I think the black grill and the splitter are my favorite parts.

Wow what a beautiful car. Bet you're spending a fair amount of time in that lately!! How's the idrive 5.0 with Apple Car Play? I've just specced up on my order to have the car play in it but I'm not sure if it'll be worth it.

The CarPlay, in all honesty is cool, but it doesn't really add that much functionality. The I drive 5.0 is totally worth it. And I'm glad I waited for it. It functions tremendously better. I found the previous generation to be very cumbersome and coming from Infiniti where they really have their tech straight, the previous generation of idrive killed me. 5.0 is lightning quick and very accessible and and useful

CarPlay is cool it's a little glitchy at times. It does work most of the time wirelessly. Occasionally it just won't sync and I have to turn the car off and on so that it catches, but that's not that frequent. It really doesn't do anything that you can't do with the iDrive with the exception of Apple Music. It is nice but does not have 100% of the functionality of Apple Music on your phone, i.e. you can't truly search like you can in Apple Music. But all the radio stations are there, and the "for you " is there. You can activate Siri by holding the iDrive button down and so you can bypass all of it to make phone calls like you would in I drive.

I messed with not using CarPlay versus using CarPlay, and for me I just like the interface. It is nice that text alert flashes and you can listen to your text without having to look down. But all in all it isn't amazing, but I like it and I'm glad I got it.

But in my limited opinion, the new version of I drive has a massive impact for me. BMWs crappy previous generations of iDrive always turned me off to the Brand in general, now it's arguably as good as anybody

This is just comparing apples to apples. I'm strictly talking about tech here so if we want to argue about drivability and performance etc. we all know that these cars are superior to the average car as I now know and believe. But strictly tech talk, it's pretty awesome, and certainly on par with all the other German cars and even the Japanese cars. I think Audi tried to stuff too much tech and came up short by trying to put such a big cluster in the dash as well as on the display. And Tesla, it's a moving iPad

I'm not sure if that feature requires the carplay option. I think it does require 'wireless charging' (which includes advanced bluetooth). And that works with google now too - if your car has the necessary options, and your android is bluetooth paired, long-pressing the idrive button activates google now. That's common to a lot of current cars though.

Congrats! I got mine a few months back. Wish the 2016 340i had CarPlay though, I'm jealous. From what someone was saying CarPlay is a little glitchy. I'm sure that will be patched via firmware since it's the first iteration.

Any problems around chicagoland with that front splitter?
I cracked my e92 M3 splitter once.
I was planning to go with just the fang part no lip(non-oem) but this looks soo good!

I have a month before it arrives to port, so time to way overthink what I want port installed.

Not so far. Although it was a snow plow today.

Just make sure that you park well before any type of parking block or curb

Great interior, identical to mine, I love it! I did spot one small issue going on in the centre console though... I'm sure that's an auto shifter going on there!!!
