Congrats S1LV3RSAMURA1 and davidwh5! Look forward to seeing pictures.

Bill - I guess ED's must take longer. I haven't heard anything from my CA as of Saturday. Have you received an updated ETA?

I shared the other's successes with my dealer and he was impressed with the quick turnaround the others are enjoying. He's always stated 7-10 days for ED VDC arrival to AZ so I'm anticipating Sunday-ish. He says his system has no update since the arrival of the 15th. Even once here they need to tint windows and change the trim in the 550i so it's just going to take "some" time.

I would be very happy to get the car by the weekend and my dealer is only 40 miles away from the VDC. My CA is kind of telling me the same thing about the car not being in the system yet as of last Saturday. Man, BMW should take some lessons from UPS or Fed X on tracking. My car could be sitting at the dealer right now for all I know. There was another thread where the dealer had the customer's car for 11 days and no one ever notified him. He only found out it had been sitting there when he called them.

Just got inside from the garage. I could not stop looking at it and sitting inside it, messing with the idrive. I already switched my turn signal orange bulbs for Silver ones and replaced the side reflectors with painted ones. I also put on the pedals. I can't wait to go to work tomorrow just so I can drive it. I will post a pic soon.

Congrats, S1LV3RSAMURA1! F36 Pilot, BillFuchs the anticipation makes this so makes better when I took delivery. Hope you guys get yours soon!

Drove my new baby around town and messy with the idrive all night. Now, I'm drained at work.

This car is a totally different beast from my G37; amazing low end torque. Surprisingly , the 435i is a smoother ride than the G37.

Cheers!

Bill - I asked my CA if EDs take longer for delivery than non-EDs and here is his reply.

Indeed, absolutely, ED cars take probably 2-3 times as long to arrive at the dealership. A lot has to do with the extra steps involving clearing US Customs (hypothetically could be used from smuggling, etc.).

BMW in all of their published literature suggest 8-10 weeks from drop-off to delivery and this time of year that is pretty accurate.

On today’s report (I run fresh report daily), there is no status change.

Has your CA done EDs before? Based upon what my CA wrote, it seems 7-10 days from arrival at port to Scottsdale seems too optomistic. I think your guy gave you the average ETA for non-EDs which would make sense since the guys in Cali got their cars 5 days from arrival at port.

F36 - Spoke with my dealer this morning, today being day 8 since ship arrived at port. Both my cars and another ED for another customer of his from same ship all still show status of being at the VDC.

F36 Pilot - any word on your car?
I just got a call from my dealer that my ED 550i is leaving the VDC on the 26th (so 11 days after ship arrival) and is due into Scottsdale two days later.
No update on the ED 435i convertible.

That is awesome Bill! No, I haven't heard anything from my CA yet. I'll have to check with him again. I'll let you know as soon as I have some good news.

F36, for what it's worth, The BMW USA website now shows the status of the 550i as finishing touches, whereas the 435i is unchanged.

I called the BMW 800 # and was pleasantly surprised to find out that my vehicle is scheduled to leave the port on Sunday also. Santa Barbara BMW is only 40 miles away from the port so I'm guessing it will be the first stop on the transport truck's route. I sent an e-mail to my CA if I could pick up on Sunday but no response yet. I'm very excited and am glad you posted about your 550i. I'm losing a bit of confidence in my CA but will give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he was off from work today. How do you track your vehicle on the BMW website? I logged on to the website and see my vehicle and loan info but don't see a tracking link.

Here's a screen shot. See the area with red drawn square, but look below it where you can add a vehicle.

I don't have that "track my BMW" box between "BMW Owners Benefits" and "Vehicles". Oh well. Hope your 435i gets updated soon.

It takes a couple days to update. Not sure how long it's been. It's really inaccurate anyway. Your best bet is the 800 # and ask to speak to a rep.
