Bimmercode fault codes

Can bimmercode read fault codes or just turn 5/things on and off?

Got a misfire on my 6month old f31 and want to change any codes before booking the car in.

BimmerLink reads and resets codes - worth buying also.

If 6 month old with warranty why would you even touch it ?
