Try to get your dealer to trade, I just ordered an F30 and got a German build...I do see you are in Texas and I know for a fact bc I drove one that there are two 328i Estoril Blue sitting on Classic BMWs lot right now. They are located in Plano, TX it may be worth a shot.

I called another dealer and they also told me no allocations for German builds soon but SA has week 45 spots. That same dealer told me there are several EB cars in Texas but none of them have my specs. I am actually in Houston and there is only one EB that also does not meet my specs. Plus most of the M sport cars in the local dealers do not have sports auto which is a no for me. The other thing is that I see a lot of 328 M sport do not have the light package which i would like.

If you are willing to do an out of state purchase, my dealer here in Chicago has quite a few German 335 slots for PW45. Let me know if you are interested, even if you order now for German PW45 build, you WILL have it by X'mas or else SA build will be much longer.

I know dealers can trade allocations is this usually locally or can my dealer trade with out of state dealers? Chicago is a bit to far for me plus I had some issues with my current car so BMW is doing a trade assist and I think I have to do it with the dealer I purchased the car from.

Regarding the production week, each production slot/number a dealer has available to them has the production week already assigned. Typically it would say PWxx where xx is the two digit week.
I have my Vehicle Inquiry Report with my production number but there is nothing in the spot that says...Act Prod Date. There is no entry. Model is 133T 335i SA which of course is SA production. Obviously, there is no vin# either.

I ordered it 10/15/12 Code 111
10/18/12 went to Code 112

Does it normally take another week for the car to go into production(Code 150)??

I'm thinking it has to go into production soon. I've been reading that there are lots of slots for PW45 which is next week, right?? This wait is going to kill me....

I have no idea about allocation trade between dealers.
If it's a trade assist then I would imagine you'd have to buy it from the same dealer whom you bought the first car to be replaced from.

mark.L,

Was your production date on your Retail Sales Invoice or did your CA tell you this? I don't know why my CA can't tell me this. There is a week between now and PW45 too, right? I need to call this guy now. Everybody seems to know their production date except for me????

Do you have your production number? If so, you can call BMW NA and ask them the week. But of course your CA should know all this, already.

It takes 30 days of shipping from SA to Germany. That is the difference between SA and German built.

So NOW it's 60 days or TWO MONTHS to ship from SA to California??? My CA told me it was 17 more days from SA to California than from Germany to California....so this is BS??

If this is true, originally he told me on my 10/15 order that the car would be here 12/14-12/18 which is all up in the air now. He can't even tell me when my car is going into production but he can estimate that my car will be here the end of December?? What an idiot I am.....This is just discouraging.

it takes total 45 days to ship from SA to U.S. It's about a month and half. For SA built BMW 335i, I would say 3 month wait time is more accurate. My car is loaded on a boat named DIGNITY ACE!

To be honest, hoping mine stays at pw45.

That's BS, because each production number is assigned to a specific week. Tell him that if he can't tell you the production week, you need to speak to the manager.

Or call BMWNA and ask them. Then call your dealer and school them on how to run their shop. Still, they likely won't care. Most don't. Its a widget to them.

Yeah, just call BMW and be done with it.

800-831-1117 and have your production number ready.

Sam,

I called BMWNA yesterday and they told me the same thing as my CA, there's no production week and they have no idea when it will go into production. In my opinion, this is a HUGE issue for me.

I agree with you. IF you get a production number, you should have SOME idea about when it's going to start production. Otherwise, what's to keep them from starting 3 weeks or a month or whenever to start your production? I think this is just BS and why I am having my CA find me a car similar to my build and just forgetting this whole order process.
