335i m-sport stock tire sizing?
Is the 335i m-sport supposed to have a staggered setup? I got mine with 18s and the setup is square (225 all around). I'm assuming that's the standard m-sport size, and the staggered setup is for the optional 19" wheels?

Xdrives come with the square setup with all seasons but you can get staggered 18s on summers as a no cost option. 19s on summer tires are a $950 option.

Deleting this post as some say it is wrong - another respected forum member told me its correct - and so I do not know for sure the information is valid.

I do believe you are correct that AS tires are square, and the higher top speed limiter is removed with AS tire choice, 135mph instead of 155mph, as if it really matters in the US or Canada. |

Maybe Canadian dealers always choose the AS tire option due to the colder weather. But if you ordered your SA should have asked you which tire type you wanted, and then explained the differences. I choose the summer tires even though I run AS tires year round. I didn't want BMW's AS tires because they are not high performance AS tires. My 335i Msport came in late August and I ran it with the really good summer hi-po tires. I swapped to Conti DWS AS tires around early November last year. |

Didn't have a choice on the tires, as the dealer located a car with all the options I ordered. Was just curious about sizing. I'm going to be swapping wheels/tires anyway to non RFTs so it's not a big worry.

Smaller in rear (or narrower if you prefer - not wider). Last edited by Kabrich; 08-10-2013 at 02:19 PM.. |

Disclaimer, I was ordering a AH3, but I do not believe that would make the difference. Note to self: Do not post after having a few drinks. What I meant to say was: Last edited by Kabrich; 08-10-2013 at 02:23 PM.. |

18" M-Sport staggered wheels should be fitted with 225/45 R18 front and 255/40 R18 rear. 19" will be 225/40 R19 and 255/35 R19 at the rear. Wider section at the rear, but lower aspect ratio. HighlandPete |

Another respected member of this forum who who's car is admired look at the car beside his and he stated that my wheels were on wrong, with the smaller being in the rear. We then looked at the info in the door frame and the tires are on the car correctly. 225 looked smaller to me than 255, so I thought they were correct. He said the smaller were on the back, which I figured meant that the 40 in the front and 35 in the rear meant the rear were smaller as 40 looks bigger than 35 to me, so wtf do I know, as I really have not worried about anything but size in inches and Summer v All Seasons when ordering a car - and again, have not had to replace any tires in 30+ year. I do have, as you stated, 225/40 R19 in front and 255/35 R19 at the rear. |

Summer tires on M Sport 335 are wider in the rear, you can visibly inspect it or read it at bmwusa.com. 225 front, and 255 rear.
