Miles per tank
Hi all,
My car is only 6 days old and it came with a full tank of fuel from the dealer. So far I have done 640 miles and the trip says I still have 170 miles to go. That makes it 800+ miles on a 57 liters tank. Okay, I have been very careful with the new enging and been driving mostly on the motorways at around 65-70 MPH. What does your computer say or what is the best and worst you have had from yours. Mine is a F30 320d Sport Manual with 18" sport alloys (397). Thanks Saurabh |

Interesting post. What mpg is your computer showing? I'd also be interested to know how much a fill up is? £60ish?

So far my computer is showing 70.2 MPG over 640 miles. I havent had a chance to fill the tank as I am still on my first tank of fuel came from the dealer.
I would think a full tank shouldnt cost more than £60-£62 (calculation based on non supermarket cheap fuel). |

I seriously don't know.
I just put fuel in and drive. Not sure I have really looked at how far out of a tank, other than when planning a long trip. It's a car, it eats fuel |

Any of the above will beat my previous 520d by some margin

Do bear in mind that when 'running-in' a new engine, you aren't supposed to keep it at the same steady revs for more than 15-20 minutes at a time - or at least that's what I was always told.
So alter speed a bit, possibly drive it in 5th rather than 6th (if a manual), etc. As to my economy, I average 45-47 or so on my usual drives, with very little dual carriageway/M-way use. When I've done long journeys though, I'm seeing 53-57 mpg. Which is quite amazing. Actual figures too, but not that far out on what the trip computer says. |

470 miles at best when majority of that mileage is my 37 mile commute to work on steady main roads (M4, A34).
Short trips = less than 400 miles, maybe even 350 if all trips under 15 miles on a tank. |

i ran my tank down last week to the limit so i could fill it with vpower diesel. so from absolute bone dryish to full cost 70quid @ £1.28 litre so 60/65 from empty to full on normal juice would be about accurate

Do you find any difference in the driving or performance with V Power?

According to my Road Trip app....my average fuel range is 587 miles per tank. I usually fill up around 550 miles, but it knows what range is to empty.
Best ever range is 658 miles which was 53.75 MPG.....not at all bad for a car that hits 60 in around 5 seconds. 330d PPK |

I'm chuffed if I make it to 400 miles before filling up. Doesn't happen often!

I get around 500 miles per full tank which equates to around 40mpg, although I tend to fill up somewhere between 400 and 450. On a relaxed longer drive it will do high 40s, although the engine does tempt me into knocking that figure down a bit!
