Not even close. ENTRY is bare bones entry level Head Unit, and ENTRYNAV is 606 Business Navigation Head Unit, one step removed from a full NBT Head Unit.

I have just successfully coded the FO code for EBT. My car is May 2015 with business media. My combox is in the HU.
Reading post #1, I was not sure if I would have to still FDL code the options as outlined in post #368 following FO coding. I can confirm that I did not have to do this. FO coding made these changes for me. |

No idea, but FO Coding does not exist. There is FDL Coding or VO Coding (aka FA Coding).

Ok didn’t take me long. Any suggestions as to which version of Esys would be best (least amount of issues eg tokens, after 31/12/2017 thing etc?)
Also best place to download from and latest beginners tutorials? I’ve seen a few tutorials but I want to make sure i’m using the latest and most relevant. I’ll try not to ask any more for a while! Can’t promise right enough... :-) |

Guess one of the last things I should ask before starting is the recommended backing up and restore procedures should anything go wrong? Just not seeing any one guide/recommendation for that.
Many thanks. |

Waste of time. Can easily VO Code any ECU to reset it.

Thanks. I was looking at a previous post on this where you mentioned that if I VO code (to 6NS in this case) then I am altering the FA of the car and VO coding wouldn't produce factory results. Does this mean then that I still need to do a backup of the original FA?
Basically if there are steps/guides anywhere on backing up (if required) and restoring after VO coding then please let me know! thanks so much "The FA in the car will not be altered by normal FDL Coding, and for most people it will remain factory original. However, it can be altered, and some people do alter to add options (4U2, 6NR, etc.), and that can be written to the car. So, if that is done, you would no longer have a factory FA in the car, so reading FA and VO Coding an ECU will not produce factory results in the modified FA affected that particular ECU. So, as you did, you make a back up of your original FA that you can always use to VO Code your ECU's. You simply need to load it and VO Code the modules. You can leave the altered VO written to the car as is." |

2) Even if you wrote modified FA to car, I would like to think you could again remove 6NS and write FA back to car as opposed to writing a backed up FA to car.

If that's not the case, where the heck does it get changed or is it changed in the car somewhere and just not hard written to the ECU? So many questions. Thanks. |

When you say "You can change FA, activate it, and Code module, without actually storing that FA in car" - do you mean to test everything is ok THEN you VO code the ECU? If so and you then VO code the ECU, how do you get the changes back? And presumably if you don't VO code to the ECU it would lose it changes if you disconnected Esys/laptop? Maybe easier if someone can just let me know the steps to do a save/restore if everything goes t*ts up? Sorry for lack of understanding but I'm brand new to it all. Thanks. |

2) Load modified FA in Coding Module and Activate it. 3) VO Code ECU. That's it. At no point is FA written to car. FA Stored in Car is still original, but ECU Coding is actually based on the modified FA.

So if the modified FA is VO coded to the ECU, where is the original FA in the car actually stored? And finally (for the love of God I hope so), if I want to restore the original FA from the car to the ECU what steps would I take to do that? Thank you again. |

There is no FA to restore because you have not written any modified FA to car. If you want to restore ECU Coding though, which has been modified, then Read original FA from car, and VO Code ECU.
