Don't do the black wheels .......... but of course thats a very personal opinion but I'm just not a lover of black wheels on any car, looses all the definition and style of the wheel and can just look very dull.

+1

I've only ever seen one car and that was a white 130i which had gloss black alloys but the edge of the rim was polished metal and the whole combination worked, but for the most part black wheels make the car look like something out of RoboCop. That said, could be that's the look the owner was going for

I'm possibly going to place my order by the end of the week as I am going away mid June and would like the car by then. I think it is a 12 week build for an individual car.
Obviously you feel the Merino leather is worth the £1215 extra, I didn't have an opportunity to compare the two so do you and any one else on the forum with the knowledge really think it is worth the extra?

I ordered a 320d M Sport xDrive touring the day after they were officially announced.

A different engine to a 330d obviously and a choice I hope I won't regret but I got a 10% discount without too much effort. End of March/early April delivery, so close to 12 weeks for an xdrive (was quoted 1st March for an s drive from same dealer)

My fabulous advice was heeded! Now can I sample your hide?

Had some bad news about my paint job (cost) so am going to have to amend the amount of black that I sprinkle over the car. Out with the black wheels, black kidneys and exhaust trim.

When you look at the standard leather it looks like it has large scales over it and is rough and stiff to the touch (OH MATRON). But when you look at the Merino it is completely smooth and soft and flexible. The amount of detailing in the seat is also high along with the door cards which have a sort of basket weave look to them. The seats have contrasting stitching and piping.

I will try and upload some picture later if I can.

There's a God in Heaven.

I'm glad you are ditching the black grille, black exhaust and those horrible black wheels. Individual leather is a must with your Orange Car unless you change the external colour to EBII and get Coral Red Hippo Hide. For me, it's the best combination both price wise and looks wise.

So how much is the total cost of the Valencia Orange Paintwork? Remember with these special colours you will have a hell of a job to repair damaged paintwork. Is it worth the extra agro and expense? IMO, not really.

The cost is £1,950.

At least the colour is standard on 1 Series of cars. So is easy to get hold of. Its not a special as the normal individual colours like Moonstone, Tanzanite Blue or Smoked Topaz. Now those would be a complete pig to repair, with their depth of colour and sparkle.

As for the colour, I like bright colours and none of the standard colours are bright. Yes the Estoril Blue is lovely, but its not bright enough for me and I feel it will become very common. Whereas Valencia Orange will always be scares. Not many people want to be Tangoed.

Here are some poor quality pictures of both standard and individual seats.
As you can see there is quite a lot of additional work in the individual leather seats.

The individual seat are actually a dark chocolate colour.

I can only agree, the feel and look of the Merino is quite different to the normal leather. It is very soft leather and smooth to the touch. I've got a few photos that show the pattern in the seats and on the doors on my old thread:

capt, that will be a great colour; like you say its a standard 1m colour, so shouldn't be too bad to fix if needed (hopefully not!)

good that you are staying with 18"s too - i think they look better than the 19"s.

if fact, as a well specd f31 330d xdrive, its just what i'm after - sell it to me around dec 2014 please! pano roof and towbar (like my e91) will be very rare, plus hud too.

ps EBlueII and coral red leather? Its clashes doesn't it?

Congratulations and felicitations. A big PAT on your back.

Black Individual Leather is truly beautiful. My favourite Individual. I only wish they had it in Coral Red. I'd have gone for that. Dakota Black Hippo Hide reminds me of the nasty stuff sold by Soho Sex Shops!!!

I've seen a couple of cars with the Black Dakota Hippo Hide and the seats are an eyesore IMO. Very Mini Cab/Munich taxi.

You'll have a very individual car with a superb set of options. Love Valencia Orange. Pity I could not afford it. The best F31 Tourer? Seems so. Ata boy!

£8000 deposit, wow

Thats a mega deposit but guess its because your car is so individual.

Anyway, sounds fantastic, roll on delivery day !!
