Sorry I do not know the weights. I bought mine as a kit, preassembled from chris@strutmonkey

Here you go...he's also on FB. Good dude. Not the cheapest solution, but takes all of the guesswork out of any bits and pieces needed for a full refresh.

After about 4 months since install, has the front drop more than an 1 inch? 35 mm is about 1.37” but you measure only 0.75” drop.

That's a cool photo of the front springs from the -05 and -06 Eibach spring kits. Attached is a photo that I took of the stock front spring on my 2015 335ix and the -06 front spring.

What is interesting about the -05 and -06 Eibach spring kits is that the spring rates are identical according to Eibach. So they should ride exactly the same. The rear springs in both kits are identical. The only difference is the length of the front springs in the two kits.

I got all of this from the Eibach European springs catalog and several discussions with Eibach tech support.

Compared to each other, the front springs in the -05 kit are 15mm (0.6") shorter, so they will drop the front 15mm (0.6") more than the -06 kit.

My experience has been that the Eibach drop estimates are pretty accurate. For my 2015 335ix Eibach estimates a Front 0.8" and Rear 0.6" drop with the -06 spring kit. And that's what I got after i installed it.

So if I swap the -05 kit in and remove the existing-06 kit, that should provide a total drop from stock of Front 1.3"-1.4" and rear 0.6".

It's very important to remember that drop estimates are based on a specific car with its stock suspension and axle weights. If these -05 and -06 spring kits were installed on different car models like 335i RWD. 435i models, or 328i 428i models, then the spring drops would be expected to differ.

No it hasn't settled much at all. It's going to take a while for the mounts to settle.

Do you think a drop of 1.3-1.4” a lot? Since i am seeing a supposedly drop of 35 mm (1.375”) has not even become a 20 mm drop (0.75”) based on dman2 car, i am considering to go for a sportline instead of eibach proline because for my F30, pro line drop is 1” while sportline is 1.5” (38 mm) based on paper.

Here is what I would go for:

x1 set of Eibach Lowering Springs: E10-20-031-05-22 (4x piece)

x2 F80 M3 front bump stops (strut bumper): 31-33-6-859-768

x2 F80 M3 rear bump stops (shock protector): 31-33-7-847-662

I am not sure about the specific Part number for the Koni Special Actives though.

I am thinking of doing the above change on my 2018 440i GC w/ xDrive and M-Adaptive Suspension.

No plans to swap out the shocks at this point yet.

Edit: per dmanb2b I had the incorrect part number above for the 330i. Should be the 04-22's

Reading this thread, I'm in the same boat. I have the 06 on my 340xi and I want that gap closed to, not slammed but a good reliable drive. I like the eibachs, but the front is too high still. Hate that reverse rake. I've seen others do rwd eibachs and it works..

I think there was some mis-information in earlier threads (not intentional) that classified the -05 as being for RWD.

In Europe, both -05-22 and -06-22 are for AWD (xDrive).

North America catalog only has the -06-22.

The true RWD part # is the -02-22. I am not convinced that using this on an xDrive will not damage the car.

I think earlier discussion on using the RWD version on xDrive may have been incorrectly tagging the -05 as RWD. (Unless of course people actually are using the -02-22's on xDrive cars, in which case I am wrong)

If you have the -06 and wanted a lower drop, I'd check out the -05's first before considering the -02's.

The 330 has a lighter motor vs. 340/440

Exactly...I'm on the 05s on a 340ix and absolutely love it. Even gap front to back and ride like it should have out of the factory. I can't advise on all the parts though as I just chose to have Chris at Strutmonkey pull it all together as a kit. Makes the DIY install a breeze.

You're right. I obviously can't read .

The -05's look like it is compatible with the 330i only for the GT (or the 330d).

for 330i F30's you'll need the 04-22's (E10-20-031-04-22)

Do you have a picture? Unless it's in the thread, I'll look again. Glad to hear, because the 06 is just too high. I would think the ride wouldn't change too much. Didn't want to go with h&r or dinan, too stiff IMO.

What a difference!!! I'm sold! I installed my other ones. So I think I'll have a winter project. I'll just have to find a vendor that sells the 05. Guessing these will work with EDC....?

Thanks!

Chris chris@strutmonkey is a good dude and can get just the springs, if you need a vendor 👍

Curious if you don't mind how much was the kit from strutmonkey? Can DM or no worries if not comfortable sharing.

Some part numbers are not widely distributed in the US, especially if you find them in the manufacturer's European catalog, but not their US catalog.

Tunershop is a retailer that has locations on both continents and often can supply in the US those parts that seem to be available in Europe only.

Andreas Schade is also an excellent source. Andreas is a retailer in Germany who is very knowledgeable and ships all over the world. Great guy. FaRKle! originally recommended him to me. His email is:
