Coding a friends car ran into an issue where coding folding mirrors wasn't working, did BMW re-map the location of the ASP_AUSKLAPPEN_NACH_KOMFORTSCHLIESSEN code?

Basically as seen in the screen shots I observed the following:
  1. ASP_AUSKLAPPEN_NACH_KOMFORTSCHLIESSEN is not under FEM_BODY:3110
  2. ASP_BEIKLAPPEN_BEI_KOMFORTSCHLIESSEN was there, however, it was nicht_aktiv and there was no way to change it to aktiv with dropdown, unless you manually edited werte value from 00 to 01.

Any Ideas?

Question

I just picked up a brandnew F11 with stock software F010-15-07-502 which means ISTA/P 3.56.1.

I run E-Sys 3.24.3, E-Sys Launcher Premium 2.1.2.63 and PSdZData 56.1 Lite as I want to FDL-Code only.

I'm quite used to FDL-Coding with my "old" 2012 F30, but with old, untrimmed versions of PSdZData

Two questions:

1) I need to use 56.1 but I'm a little in fear as those PSdZdata are trimmed and comments "re-injected" in some way. If the injection by Tokenmaster is not right for whatever reason (e.g. BMW changed the position of an option), can I simply load the original CAFD that I read out initially and FDL-code it again and I'm fully reverted?

2) Is it correct that with this software combination I do not need to enter a Token PIN any more?

1) You can just VO Code ECU to reset it. No need for injection.

2) With E-Sys Launcher, you generate your own .EST with PIN, but do nothave to enter PIN each time afterwards.

Hi Shawn,

I'm looking to start trying my hand at coding etc. Could you message me details on how I can get the E-Sys and things required to start? Thanks.

Well, it is true what you wrote; however, in speaking with TokenMaster, he seems to think it is just BMW AG screwed up the 56.1 CAFD file.

I followed your instructions and this worked. Today, I tried to code some other features and now I seem to have messed up all the features that I previously coded. For example, I have 3 features coded in KOMBI:

1. BC_DIGITAL_V : I have it set to "aktiv", however after coding, it reverts back to "nicht_aktiv". I see not digital speed under BC.

2. BC_V_KORREKTUR: I have it set to "nicht_aktiv", however after coding, it reverts back to "aktiv". Also, I am seeing a funny display under BC that looks like a time symbol (as under cruise control) followed by a "km/hr" reading that starts from zero but is slowly incrementing...does not match the actual speed or any correction.

3. BMW_LOGO: I have it set to "m_performance", however, it defaults to "ag" after coding.

4. DIM_NACHT_EIN: I set "werte=FF", but it defaults back to "werte=08" (the original setting my car).

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong here? I am receiving no errors in the "coding" step? I am having the same issue regardless of whether I am programming "KOMBI", "FEM_BODY" or "HU_NBT". All setting changes seem to take effect but after shutting the car and restarting, all values go back to default, except for this new display under BC (mentioned in #2 above)

Do i need to get a restore done from my original settings....if so, can anyone guide with the steps.

HELPPPP !!!

You are likely highlighting ECU and then right-click => Code instead of highlighting CAFD => Code FDL.

I'm pretty sure that is the issue. Will test this out tomorrow. Thanks for the tip once again.

Does anyone know how to read OBD2 error codes (ie. check engine lights) for these F series cars?

Shawn, I coded a Jan 14 F31 successfully using the guides on here.

I am due to pick up a June 15 F31 on Thursday and assume it has the shortened CAFD files - is there an idiots guide anywhere on how to code these shortened files ?

You already sent me a link to download the new software - thanks.

You code as you always have. Only difference is you use E-Sys Launcher 2.x to Open E-Sys.
