Has anyone here ever heard of, or used, "Carly for BMW?" http://www.mycarly.com/product/bmw-app/

They sell a bluetooth ODB dongle that talks to a companion Android/iPhone app. It's not cheap, so I wanted to know if anyone has used it.

Apparently it can do "all the things" for E-series BMWs, but their website says they're not quite ready for F-series coding.

I'm not advertising for them, or anything... but I do want to drum up interest so that others can compare it to the "real thing" (and tell me if it's worth it.)

Hi all,

I want to code my new 2016 model F31. When I try to read the CADF from the FEM_BODY to disable start/stop I receive the following error:

FEM_BODY [40] [K725621]
readCPS o.k.
CAFD_00000794_015_041_203 Fehler:
File for "cafd_00000794-015_041_203" not found! [C012]

The problem seems limited to this specific CADF others like HU_NBT2 are reading fine.

Anybody a clue what could cause this?

I've been reading through this thread over the past week or so and want to do some coding on my f30 328i. However, since the member in the OP is no longer making cables, where are you guys getting cables now? I see plenty of them on ebay.

Also, I read that to setup launch control you may need to update your cars firmware. Is this something the dealer would do or can you DIY?

I follow the instructions but I have two problems...( xenon only)
A guy make the retrofit / hardware ( switch for lights don't have auto)
The car before coding working fine whit 2 errors :
Whith switch off (0) have angel light ok and don't work the light maximum. Just whith switch on I have medium light and maximum with error In computer board

Now whith coding:
I have maximum light with switch off
But with switch on for runing on night I just have maximum light and no medium light
The angel seems don't work properly because always on. Turn engine off and stay with light about 3 minutes... Not normal

It's possible retrofit defect or a defect coded??

Using original FA, right-click on FEM_BODY (the ECU itself and not the underlying CAFD) and select CODE (not Code FDL).

Use same link you have for Launcher Pro. Install over existing version. Settings including Activation Code should be preserved.

Shawn, can you resend me the files, for some reason after installing E-sys I can't find the EDIABAS folder.

Edit: sorry just realized, I don't need EDIABAS but at the same time i can't get anything to pop up in Step 7 of instructions: Step 7: Select F series you are working on, my case F10 and select Connection via VIN and click “Connect”. For me it's blank even though in the "Connect via VIN" line I can see vehicle VIN.
