Has anyone retrofitted high beam assist/the FLA camera in the rear view mirror to a F30 series?

I have a 2012 F30 335xi with the rearview mirror with rain sensing wipes, home link, dimming mirror, but unfortunately no FLA camera. Somehow I forgot to check this feature when doing my build and I thought it was included with the adaptive headlights or one of the other packages. I wasn't that disappointed since it was a simple on/off high beam in the US but the latest threads on no-dazzle enabling have me wanting this modification.

I have found some threads/videos on retrofitting the rearview mirror for the E46, but nothing on the F30.

I'm curious if anyone has attempted this before and how doable it is or how similar to the E46. From my research it seems like primarily it just replacing the rear view mirror with one with the FLA camera...

Any guidance is appreciated.

It's necessary to add two wires into the mirror plug and connect them to K-CAN2 line. It can be accessed in the roof module FZD (not checked) or FEM module.
Then car has to be coded with 5AC option.
Also you have to replace the wheel stalk in order to be albe to turn the FLA on. I wonder if there is a way to code the car to make FLA state always on by default to avoid stalk replacing.. This is possible on F10, but I haven't find any clue regarding F30..

I know I can avoid the wheel stalk - the code to turn it high beam assistant automatically on does work on the F30 from what I read from the other coding posts.

Thanks for the wiring info. So it sounds pretty similar to the same way as in prior models. It seemed for the E90* series they had a retrofit wiring kit that provided some of the components for the cable (PN 61120434330 - http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/Dimming/ES161804/), any idea on whether that wiring kit would work for the F30? It seems like it would but without opening it up and looking at the wires needed hard to tell.

The fact is you don't need all that wires to retrofit FLA if you have autodim mirror. You have to get two female pins (61 13 0 005 197), insert them to your mirror connector in the slots number 4 and 5 according to scheme and connect wires to K-CAN2 line. We can do almost the same on F30 with the exception our mirror doesn't have separate 3-pin socket for FLA. So the retrofit is pretty easy if you have autodim mirror.

Can you direct me to where you found this? Because I can't seem to find that code that has HBA automatically on without clicking the button...

I must have been mistaken - it was applicable to the F10 and I hadn't looked at it that closely.

I swear I had read it somewhere else where it would potentially work for F30 but can find where... Unfortunately I don't have the FLA camera to try that out and really validate it. If I remember correctly in the F30 we don't have the FRM module, so the FLA_AUTO_AKTIV setting is found in FEM_BODY instead (I don't have access to my setting right now to search). I believe that it has to be set to "aktiv" or "automtaisch" (depending on your version of the system - they changed the setting value/behavior with one of the upgrades - then back I believe).

There is no FLA_AUTO_AKTIV setting in F30. And nothing else related to automatic FLA.

Hello! I have F30 from 02/2012 with autodim mirror and rain sensor, but I don't have K-CAN2 lines in FZD. Does that mean I need to route wires from FEM? Or is there a K-CAN2 line somewhere else near the roof module? Thanks!
